For those who don't know the size of the problem:

In 2006 I bought a new [entry level] Computer with 256 MB of RAM and a single-core P4 Celeron with 2,8 GHz.

• This thing ran #WindowsXP and #NeedForSpeedMostWanted just fine.

• Nowadays it would crash trying to open #Slack even on a minimalist #Linux distro like @bunsenlabs in @dillo, a lightweight browser ...

And now imagine that some folks have to use #Slack, #MicrosoftTeams, #Telegram, #Signal, #WhatApp, #WeChat, #QQ and #LineMessenger at the same time on their machine, and you can imagine that this will make entry-level desktops already scream harder than if someone were to loop the Lost Coast benchmark on them...

• The #bloat of modern #WebApps is just the socially accepted equivalent to #Cryptojacking desktops and driving some *phat #SuperUselessVehicle just to get less than a kg of groceries at a walking distance supermarket.

Everywhere else we'd not accept such a #bloatware IRL.

• So why should we accept #obscene|ly #WastefulComputing*?

LINE Messenger uses E2EE (end-to-end encryption) for text messages, location information and 1-on-1 voice/video calls so why is it never mentioned when talking about secure apps? #LINEMessenger #Privacy

It maybe a long shot... But I am gonna try it anyways. Is there anybody here that has used #Line their #API's before ? And in particular their #developers console.

I have a Line account (yes linked to a business account) registered on a Dutch phone number. but for the life of me, I can not go through the flow of "Create a Messaging API channel".

Is this due to the fact that my account is an outlier (Dutch phone number) but I do have Line Pay configured for the Taiwanese region?

But other than the FAQ, I cannot access any form of support... 😔

Any tips, suggestions ? Things I could try ?

Why does it seem like I am the only one that loves LINE Messenger?

Apart from the default Messages app LINE Messenger seems to be the only one that still has an Apple Watch app so I can send messages from my Watch (let me know if there are others). This is one of a few reasons why I love it so much. Facebook Messenger dropped their Watch app so I really hope LINE keep theirs. #LINEMessenger

I wish more people would use LINE Messenger. I love it because:

1. You can use it with a username instead of your phone number.
2. The stickers are so cute.
3. It uses encryption.
4. I can reply via my Apple Watch.
