Day 2: An Epic Love Story
The challenge somewhat (in my head) suggests an historical drama but I'm gonna go with time travel. Lovely Runner is pretty epic in scope in its own way. Never really knew how they were gonna pull it of in the end but they did.

Finally checking out some classic #Kdramas now that I am on #Viki. Finished #Goblin and #DescendantsOfTheSun. Threw in #LovelyRunner just for something more recent. Starting #FightForMyWay and #DreamHigh. Any recommendations?
I hope they step up their subtitle game for Lovely Runner.
Netflix subs are terrible compared to Viki & they never do the songs - which are so important for this drama.
@ronsboy67 I'm really not a fan of high school stories but the later time skips don't return there and are much more interesting, IMHO. Also not a big fan of time travel but this show mixed it up a lot more than most and I found it quite interesting to see what changed each time. Hope you like it even though you might not love it.

My #KDrama watching history is long enough to remember when it WASN'T apparently legally mandated that the definition of "romcom" was "MUST include serial killer storyline" As soon as I realised this Drama was toeing the line by including one, it killed any desire I had to finish it.
I'm an old-fashioned softy and for me, "serial killer" and "romcom" fit together as naturally as penguins and the Sahara.
Starting ep 5 of #KDrama #LovelyRunner and I've only made it this far because I want to see what they hype's about. The story is FINALLY showing sparks of something that might catch my interest, but it's got a lot of ground to make up after what felt to me like a frenetic first four that were tonally and thematically all over the place.
After #KDrama #QueenOfTears ended up being a 7.75/10 for me (muffed landing), time to start 2024's OTHER hype monster, #LovelyRunner Watching two mega-hyped #KDramas withing months of their release is a first for me. Finding the first one to be more hit than miss was also a pleasant surprise, it will be interesting to see if #LovelyRunner and I are in sync.

I couldn't watch much on my camping trip but I finished off #CaptivatingTheKing as well as the final shows of #LovelyRunner and #AtypicalFamily. Working on #HospitalPlaylist S2 and rewatching #UncontrollablyFond with @whoosh

I heard many good things about the #kdrama #LovelyRunner, which I just completed.
Yes, it sticks the landing. It has charming and funny scenes. The time-travel back and forth is interesting and as they reveal the layers of the story, it drew me in. The music was good, cinematography was lovely, and respect for the wheelchair use was good.
I did NOT like the FL for the most part. She was very childish and clumsy. I liked her mature interactions with the 2ML better.
I'd rewatch for the 2ML.

Production, cinematography, OST, costuming, symbolism, writing, acting, & chemistry are well done. This is a romCOM with so many funny moments, but it also tugs at your heart. I cried the most at the grandma scenes.
It is a story of fated relationships. The villain happens to be part of the triangle. The time travel is a means to change fate. Neither the reason for or the method of changing fate is that important to the story. Their love & their sacrifices are the story.
All the actors did a fab job with their time shifting. Fun to watch for objects to appear in different timelines, the FL's crazy (& sometimes stupid) antics & the ML's hopelessly in love embarrassment. Although very fun, it does remind us that time is fleeting & anything can change the future, so best make the most of the present.

Unpopular opinion: it's a #kdrama I forced myself to finish. Especially the last 2 episodes I wanted to give up.
The time-traveling aspect is intriguing and passionating. This part of the plot is what kept me hooked, despite a too shallow and childish FL character.
Towards the end I found even the ML character irritating. The whole romance is too cheesy for my taste.
