No i są apki.

IMO chore. Na stronie urzędu do tej pory nic...

Komunikat burmistrza Włodawy o testach syren alarmowych w mieście.

Edit: Testy. Info o tym tylko na fejsbuku.

Mam info, że we Włodawie zawyły syreny. Ogłoszenie alarmu a później odwołanie.

Nikt nic nie wie, żadnego info. RCB nic nie przysłało. RCO nic. Na 112 nic nie wiedzą.

Ktoś coś? Testy niezapowiadane? Ktoś przejął syreny?

FPS, as of late known for making most of Poland's passenger wagons and trying to branch out into multiple units, has won a tender for 4 EMUs for the Lublin Voivodeship. The only competing bid came from... Končar, making their first attempt at getting into the Polish market

The Przybyłowski Tenement Houses, Kazimierz Dolny, Poland

The Przybyłowski tenement houses were built in 1615, in the southern corner of the Kazimierz market square. Their name comes from the names of the owners, wealthy brothers Mikołaj and Krzysztof Przybyła, who decorated the tenement houses with images of their patron saints. The adjacent houses have an identical arrangement of facades: a ground floor with arcades and a first floor with three windows. The facades are richly decorated with bas-reliefs depicting people, animals, plant and linear ornaments, Christian and mythological, medieval fantasies and Renaissance grotesques. All this is interwoven with Latin philosophical maxims. Both tenement houses were apparently polychrome, as evidenced by the traces still visible today.

The older tenement house, “Under Saint Nicholas”, is named after the bas-relief of Saint Nicholas placed between the first floor windows. The decorative pilasters in the corners of the building feature bas-reliefs of Saint James and Saint Thomas. After 1772, the building served as the town hall.

The tenement house “Under Saint Krzysztof” took its name from the gigantic bas-relief in the center of the facade, showing Saint Christopher, carrying little Jesus through the water, sitting on his shoulder. The figures of Judith and Salome appear on the pilasters in the corners of the building. The roof of the building has been preserved in its original form, i.e. it is concave.

Currently, the Przybyłowski Tenement Houses house the City Hall and the Bank.

Castle in Kazimierz Dolny, Poland (part 2 of 2)

The castle was built in the 14th century during the times of King Casimir the Great, after the Tatars attack on the Lublin region. Its shape is adapted to the terrain. The courtyard was surrounded by high walls where people could take shelter in case of danger. There was a well carved in the middle.

The castle was the seat of the starosty, and its architecture changed over the centuries. There were living quarters on the town side, and a gate on the opposite side. In the place where the viewpoint is now located, a four-sided residential tower was built in the 15th century, blown up in 1809 by the Austrians. In the 16th century, the walls of the residential wing and towers were decorated with attics.

The castle was destroyed during the Swedish Deluge and was never rebuilt.

Castle in Kazimierz Dolny, Poland (part 1 of 2)

The castle complex in Kazimierz Dolny consists of a round tower and the ruins of the castle. The tower is the oldest building in Kazimierz, built at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. The defensive tower is 20 meters high, the walls on the ground floor are approximately 10 meters thick, and the entrance to it is 6 meters high. The tower was probably once surrounded by a palisade. It was a place of protection and customs collection for the existing crossing on the Vistula.

Tag 14: Lublin (- Wien)
1km, 13hm

Tag 13: Lublin – Majdanek – Lublin
67km, 341hm

Tag 11: Sandomierz – Lublin
109km, 546hm

Temple of the Sibyl, Puławy, Poland

It is the first Polish museum of the nation’s history. The temple was built by Princess Izabela Czartoryska in the years 1798-1801 as a “temple of memory”. The architect she hired - Chrystian Peter Aigner - was to model the temple of the goddess Vesta standing in Tivoli near Rome. Above the entrance there is an inscription: “Past-Future”. The stairs to the upper hall are guarded by lions donated by Tsar Alexander I of Russia who visited Puławy. The lower hall is entered from the side of the escarpment.

In the temple, the princess collected family memorabilia of the Sieniawskis, Lubomirskis and Czartoryskis, as well as memorabilia of other great Poles. They were supposed to remind of the glorious national past. In 1830, before the November Uprising, the collection was evacuated, and then went to Paris after it was purchased by Fr. A. J. Czartoryski Hotel Lambert. After their return to Poland, they went to Krakow, where they became the nucleus of the Princes Czartoryski Museum. The Museum in the Temple of the Sibyl was reactivated by PTTK in 1938 and is available to this day.

It is located in the western part of the Lublin Province on the Vistula River. It was erected in the years 1508 - 1526 thanks to the efforts of Mikołaj Firlej, the Great Hetman of the Crown, and for over 150 years it remained in the possession of the Firlejs.

At the end of the 16th century, the fortress began to lose its military significance in favor of residential functions. In the years 1565-1585, further expansion of the castle took place. The work was led by an Italian architect - Santi Gucci.

At the beginning of the 17th century, after the Tarło family took over the castle, the residential part was extended and the western and eastern towers were added.

On February 7, 1656, the castle was plundered and burned during the Swedish invasion under the command of Charles Gustav. Then, it was rebuilt and extended in the Baroque style by the Lubomirski family, who owned it until the first half of the 18th century. The reconstruction was supervised by the Dutch architect Tylman of Gameren.

In 1783, Jerzy Marcin Lubomirski lost a castle at cards. Its new owner was Mikołaj Piaskowski. However, neither he nor the subsequent owners (including the Osławski family) were able to maintain the castle. They sold all the furnishings (even the marbles were taken off the walls) and the castle was abandoned and fell into disrepair.

In 1931, the castle was purchased by Leon Kozłowski from Warsaw. He renovated only two rooms in the tower, but - more importantly - stopped the vandals. The castle with the adjacent land was too small an estate to be nationalized as part of the agricultural reform passed. As a result, Kozłowski was the only owner of the castle in the Eastern Bloc.

In 1975, the building was purchased by the Vistula Museum and since 1993 it has been gradually renovated.

The Radziwiłł palace and park complex in Biała Podlaska, Poland (part 2)

Entry gate

The Baroque gate, built of sandstone, was the main entrance to the residence. Built in the years 1699-1702, probably by the architect Józefat Jeziornicki, modeled on the triumphal arch of Constantine the Great in Rome, it was the showcase of the entire palace complex. It has a rich sculptural decoration of a triumphal and military character.

Gate tower

The tower is a Baroque building, erected by Józefat Jeziornicki in the years 1699-1701, projected on a square plan, framed from the bottom with two-storey buildings. It consists of five floors. It is topped with a Baroque helmet on a gloriette. The corners of the tower are decorated with two parallel pilaster strips running side by side. There was a clock on the tower from the side of the palace. In the past, the gate tower served as a guard and a prison.

Neck

Built in the years 1699-1701 and rebuilt in the 1920s, it connects the entrance gate with the gate tower. It is a brick and plastered building, on a quarter-circle plan, covered with a gable roof. In the past, it served as a communication link between the main gate and the tower through which the entrance to the courtyard led. Passing through the dark tunnel of the neck and seeing the palace building located at its exit aroused respect for the power of the Radziwiłł family.

The Radziwiłł palace and park complex in Biała Podlaska, Poland (part 1)

The former magnate residence of the Radziwiłł family, one of the most outstanding architectural realizations of the 17th century in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, based on the castle complex in Niewierz.

The main object of the complex in Biała Podlaska was the palace (1622-1630), imitated many times in the construction of other residences. The entire complex was built for over a hundred years (1622-1736) and consisted of a palace (demolished as a ruin in 1883), a chapel from 1628, three outbuildings encompassing one of the largest palace courtyards of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, a tower, an entrance gate and surrounding the entire a complex of earth fortifications of the Old Dutch system.
