On This Day 31st March 1992.

Side view of the bare wooden fuselage of a small, pre-World War 2-era airliner, standing on metal supports, facing to the right, looking more like a boat than an aeroplane.
Most of the exterior is yellow, with the upper sections being an orangey-red, and the interiors being painted a flat grey.
Mounting points for the bi-plane wings can be seen at the top and bottom of the fuselage.
There is a gaping hole where the front of the cockpit should be, allowing a view of wires and pulleys for the controls, as well as internal bracing struts.
The large, ovoid doorway from the cockpit to the passenger cabin is in the middle of the frame, with a good view of the rounded, truncated triangular windows of the cabin, visible on both sides of the plane, the cabin interior being very dark.
In the background, the dark wooden balustrade of an elevated walkway runs around the interior of the museum building, stretching all the way across the frame.
Ornate metal beams hold up the roof, most of which is brown wooden slats, but a large chunk of the roof in the top right corner is heavily glazed, allowing lots of natural light in.

Elevated head-on view of a white, single-engined light aircraft on display in a museum, with a mauve glider with cream wings and the white letters "BQT" on the tail in the background on the left, an orange, single-engined military jet aircraft on the right behind a grey pole, and a blue microlight with it's left wing tilted to the ground directly behind it.
Sunlight is streaming in from a window right at the back, casting bright spots on the off-white floor.

At #MOSI we have #JFK, I know not Irish by birth but he is still one of ours (along with about 30 other US Presidents).

G-BZGO, Robinson R44 Astro, at City Airport Manchester/Barton, 23rd May 2019.

Side view of a single seat, single engined gyrocopter on display in a museum.
This aircraft pretty much has no fuselage, instead being mostly a metal frame with a seat, an engine driving a rearward-facing propellor mounted behind the seat, a mast rising up behind the seat with a freely-rotating undriven rotor at the top, wheels, and a tail.
The seat is a faded brown, with a control column in front and an engine control on the left, and nothing more.
The tail is a bright red, with the registration “G-APUD” in white.
The engine has a red cover, and is attached to a red propellor.
In the background, a cream-coloured walkway wends it way between very pale blue areas for exhibits, with sevral wooden frames visible in a blue area at the top of the frame.

G-ARCI, Cessna 310D, looking rather sorry for itself with it’s engines removed at Blackpool Squires Gate, 30th April 1993.
This plane’s registration was cancelled in January 1989, and was still there (sans tail) in 2004!

Side view of a light helicopter parked on a small square concrete hardstanding at a grass airfield, facing to the right. The body is mostly blue, with a white belly and landing skids, as well as a white rotor mast. The tail boom is mostly blue, with the tail being white, and the registration "G-BZGO" in silver. There are "Flight Academy" titles on the rear fuselage, as well as a phone number "0161-788-8489", and a website adress, "www.flightacademy.co.uk". In the background, grass fills most of the frame, with trees at the edge of the airfield, under a hazy grey sky.G-APUD, Bensen B-7MC Gyrocopter, on display in the Aerospace Hall at Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), Manchester 31st March 1992.Side view of a twin engined light aircraft parked on grass facing to the right. The plane is mostly white, with blue and red stripes running along the body from the nose, the red stripe curling round the back of the cabin windows and forward along the top of the fuselage, with similar red and blue stripes running along the wingtip fuel tanks and the engine cowlings. The registration "G-ARCI" is on the rear fuselage in white, with the number "310" on the tail in black. The engine cowlings mounted on the wings are empty, the engines having been removed some time prior. Some ballast can be seen poking out from the front of the cowling, through the hole that would normally be occupied by the propellor shaft. In the foreground, the top of a barbed wire fence can be seen at the bottom of the frame, while in the background, several other light aircraft can be seeparked in various directions, in front of a grey hangar, whose open door reveals yet more light aircraft. Above, the sky is bright yet hazy white.Side view of a twin propellor-engined airliner flying from right to left at a very low altitude, with the undercarriage extended and the nose angled slightly down, suggesting it is coming in for a landing. The plane has a grey upper body, with a dark blue belly, seperated by a thin black, red, and yellow stripe running along the body. There are black "Deutsche BA" titles on the upper forward fuselage, and the registration "D-ADSE" on the lower rear fuselage in grey. The top half of the tail is dark blue, the lower half is grey, with a red, black, and yellow triangle seperating the 2 parts. In the background, hazy grey-blue sky streaked with patches of white fills the rest of the frame.

The engine pods are a bare metal finish. In the background, acres of concrete fill the screen.Side view of a single engined, two seat biplane on display in a museum. The plane is a duck-egg blue, with silvery wings and nose engine cowling. There is a long exhaust pipe running along the body from the engine, finishing just below and aft of the rear cockpit. Close front view of a twin engined high-winged jet airliner facing off to the right of the camera. The plane has a grey belly and white upper half, with blue lines seperating the two sections. The engines are mounted on the upper surface of the wings, have the same lower half, blue stripe and white uppers of the fuselage, and have a red cover over the engine intake. The lower forward fuselage has large blue titles in Cyrillic, transliterating in to English as "Aeroflot", with an open door breaking these letters up. The plane is casting a strong shadow on the ground, with bright reflections from the sun, just out of frame on the left. Hazy white sky completes the picture.Side view of a white helicopter flying from right to left at low level. There is a thin blue/brown/blue stripe running along the bottom edge of the helicopter, running up in to the tail. The cabin doors have been removed, meaning that the people inside almost seem to be hanging out. the sky behind is a mix of white and grey clouds, with bits of blue threatening to come through.High side view of a brown tri-plane facing to the right in a museum. The plane's 3 wings right at the front behind the propellor are matched by the 3 tailplanes right at the rear. There are black "Bulls Eye" and "Avroplane" titles in the middle of the fuselage, the former over the latter. Behind is a silver jet fighter aircraft, and other exhibits in the museum.
