I've resigned myself that the best way to set up access to channel files is to use the "add shortcut to OneDrive/my files" option.
I prefer to have my OneDrive be actual folders and files, and not pointers to files in other places, but the alternatives for accessing channel files are not great, so here we are.
Moving the a channel's files from one Team to another is veeerrrryyy sssllllooowwwwwww...
Conspiracy theory: Apps like #Slack and #MSTeams game engagement metrics by showing notification badges / labels and then refusing to remove them when you look at the cause of the notification.
You have focus a input field. Dig out the relevant item (not signposted) and double click on it. Stare intently at a full-screen window whilst muttering incantations only known to the oldest gods. It's all anti-user pro-numbers BS #darkpatterns
We don't hold big online or hybrid events at the Library, but it is good to know this capability is (or will be) there.
"Starting April 1st, 2026, Teams events capabilities such as town hall and webinar, including advanced features, are available to all users licensed for Teams Enterprise and no longer require Teams Premium."
Just noticed MS Teams has a schedule send feature which is nice but I needs a setting to send when the person becomes available and not make me waste time finding a time slot after they are off 'do not disturb'. New in MS Teams: Communities
I guess we'll have to rethink our use of channels and private group chats (which I feel is what has been used to support "communities" up to now). Or maybe they are meant to facilitate cross-uni collaboration? Would be interested to hear from other who end up using/making use of this feature.
It occurred to me that one of the reasons so many people with a certain mindset moved into IT is that we didn't have to talk to people all that often. And the further up the career ladder you progressed, the less you had to talk to people. You could do almost all of your work communication via email.
The corollary to that is one of the reasons many of us detest #msTeams so much: it goes out of its way to encourage and facilitate face to face communication (badly). Do Not Want.
Oh, just great. #msteams has begun auto-incorrecting me as I type, introducing typos and grammar errors. 😖
weiß jemand ob es einen Weg gibt aus #Microsoft #Teams die #Schichten zu extrahieren?
Würde die Daten gerne in den Familien #Kalender mit aufnehmen.
Why Teams-Based Ticketing Wins Adoption Instantly
If your users work in Microsoft Teams but log tickets somewhere else, support is already broken. Ticketing works best where work already happens.
Frankreich löst sich von Zoom und MS Teams
Um von Software aus Drittstaaten unabhängig zu werden, führt Frankreich eine heimische Videokonferenzplattform für alle Behörden ein. Meetergo ist eine Alternative aus Deutschland.

France is having a go at something other countries tried before: build a sovereign alternative to Teams. 2027 seems optimistic, but let's see. Likely default will be to be unavailable during non-working hours, and a sneak peek at the new status option https://www.euronews.com/next/2026/01/27/france-to-ditch-us-platforms-microsoft-teams-zoom-for-sovereign-platform-amid-security-con #MSTeams

Erstaunlich, was in #Frankreich immer geht, was in #Deutschland gar-nie-nicht möglich wäre.
how long does it take you to join the MS Teams meeting :dumpster_fire_gif:
A colleague recommended teams-for-linux package and it actually fixes all the issues that web teams has on linux firefox. Just incase there are others out there who have to use Teams at work.
Some settings and teams specific shortcuts are hidden behind the application menu (use ALT to show), like "join a meeting via link".
It's an electron app but honestly it works really well for what I need it for.
What instant communication, thread-based platform do you use at least once a month?
Just trying to get an idea of the popularity of different options - multiple choices possible, please boost around!
If you think we should add some choices, please cite them in comment and I'll do a 2nd poll. They would have to be similarly thread / themes / channel - based, with a phone app but also available in the browser (e.g. maybe Matrix? But website-only platforms like Discourse would not work).
#Discord #Teams #MSTeams #Slack #Zulip #AcademicChatter (but not only)
Are you confused in #Teams because sometimes Enter sends message but sometimes it does a line break?
I just realised that when you're in "show formatting options" mode, it is the latter, otherwise the former.
To activate this mode, click on the little A+ pen icon at the bottom of the composing windows.
Of course Teams could just always have Enter do a line break... But that would be too easy and intuitive! ugh
Similarly, also check out this support note on limitations on files, file names and file types in OneDrive and SharePoint (MS Teams is built on SharePoint).
If your org is an MS Teams org, I recommend skimming and bookmarking this page. it covers things like max number of teams, channels, file sizes, characters and phrases that channel names cannot include, etc.
