Went to the Graham Platner rally in #BelfastMaine tonight at the #CrosbyCenter. Looking forward to kicking Susan Collins out of Congress and having a real representative who actually knows what it's like to work for a living. #GrahamPlatner #Democracy #Maine #Vote

Our island campsite at sunrise, early July 2025. When we’re not working, my partner and I use his lobster boat (pictured at anchor in the second photo) to go camping on some of the many uninhabited islands along the Maine coast.

A photograph of a tent set up on a verdant grassy patch at the edge of a rocky pink granite shoreline on a tiny island off the coast of Maine. The island is connected to an adjacent larger island by a tidal sand bar that is just exposed. There’s a large spruce tree next to the tent from which three lanterns are suspended by paracord. The larger island in the background is densely forested by spruce trees and the sun is just poking up behind the tree line.A second photo from the island campsite at sunrise looking in the other direction. In the foreground there’s tall greenish yellow grass, some shrubby plants, and a few spruce trees to the left of the frame. To the right the pink granite shoreline slopes down to a placid ocean. In the background a lobster boat sits at anchor and there are islands in the distance.

A photograph of a mother Canada goose sitting on a grassy patch sheltering her goslings under her wing. One gosling is poking its yellowish-tan head up from the space between its mother’s body and wing. The other two goslings have their heads tucked beneath her wing with their fuzzy bodies protruding a little.

October 1, 1983, 42 years + 1 week ago today: After crossing Pollywog Stream on a logging road bridge, the AT proceeded to Rainbow Stream, which it followed for a good distance upstream, passing a long series of cascades and small waterfalls in the boulder-strewn shallow waters.

Beneath a soft light blue sky with a single small cloud in the upper right corner of the photo, we are standing on a shady portion of the shore of a large lake. Our portion of shoreline is covered with tall grasses and a few leafy shrubs. The far shores are low forested ridges, mostly covered with evergreens sprinkled with a few hardwoods showing red, orange or gold autumn foliage. Beyond those ridges, a bit hazy with distance, rises a massive lofty mountain, with extensive alpine regions in its top half.

October 1, 1983, 42 years + 1 week ago today: The first day of October in the North Maine Woods was a warm one — even warmer than yesterday. It was not even a bit chilly when I awoke.

It is very early in the morning. The clear sky has little color yet and is almost white. There is a lot of mist and haze in the air. We are standing several hundred feet above a large lake looking out through a large gap in the trees. Other small mountains like the one we are on rise across the lake. The lakeshore and mountains are covered in a forest predominately of dark green spruce and fir. There are a few autumn reds and golds mixed in.

I’m back! It’s been such a hectic summer and sadly I’ve had to take a break from Pixelfed. Summer and fall are the busiest times of season for me as a commercial lobsterman. I have many photos from the past few months I’m excited to share with you all.

A film photo of a white sandy beach flanked by pink granite and spruce trees on the coast of Maine. In the foreground there are worn chunks of granite protruding from the sand at the edge of the tree line along with a few piles of seaweed and some clusters of beach grass. The sand dotted with more patches of dried seaweed and sloped down to a cove. The coastline stretches into the distance and more spruce forest is visible in the background.
