I didn't plan to shoot these as a diptych but they were back to back on the roll and when I edited them, now I can't see them apart. I know it's a lot going on with a double exposure and a sign but it just feels like part of the same scene, so I had to post them together. Also, I found that sign very charming 🪈🐍

A black and white double exposure of a desert scene, the film rebate of a 6x4.5 frame can be seen with the black edge getting a small cat eye cut in. The more prominent exposure is a distant rock out on a hillside against a stark sky which is starting to show the other exposure, another shifted over and titled desert horizon. Below the rock out crop are massive trees with their canopy brightly lit and the trunks plunging into darkness. The second exposure also starts featuring in the foreground with a tall pillar of a cactus on the left of the frame simultaneously obscuring and highlighting a path into the valley from the other exposure. The hilly horizon and the angle of the cactus make you want to tilt your head slightly to the left to look at the photo.

Beyond the sign stretching into the out of focus blurry background is a prominent rock face on the side of a hill on a fairly steep hill. The entire scene is light in bright sunlight with some wispy clouds in the sky. The sign is in the shade but against the bright background making it stick out more.

A garage door style siding houses a small rectangular window with rounded corners appears as a portal inside a coffee shop, where only the coffee grinder is visible against the backlight of a display case.
