Once a symbol of mobility and status, this Audi now rests in etemal park, its final destination determined by an expired sticker, a ripped bumper, and the conspicuous absence of a license plate. On September 10th, the vehicle embraced a new artistic medium - flame - offering a fast-forwarded glimpse of urban decay. As days pass, the installation evolves: doors ajar, hood up, perhaps a new trinket added by a passerby. A poignant reminder that life around it moves on, while this relic rusts, stalls, and absorbs the passing glances of the curious.

Please do not contribute additional fire.

The cars are too big – and too many. Otherwise I'd say Europe.

This is a photograph of an interesting pair of creatures situated on the Manayunk Bridge, a pedestrian/bicycle trail crossing over the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. On the left is what appears to be a plaster or concrete statue of a tyrannosaurus rex, painted green with blue eyes and very white teeth. It is wearing a lovely flowered prairie bonnet, with a sort of a frilled cape over its shoulders. Behind it is a plush white goat, towering over the T Rex, its head cocked at a quizzical angle. (I'm colorblind – my kid asked "Why is its nose colored red with the blood of its enemies?") They are set in a little concrete curb triangle. Before them is a small plastic lidded box with dog treats inside, and a bowl of water for dogs to drink from. Just off to the side is a wooden crate filled with sticks, labelled "Dog Stick Library."

A small wooden crate, maybe two feet long by one foot wide, maybe 10 inches tall. Inside the crate are sticks from trees. On the front of the crate is written "Dog Stick Library" and "Manayunk Bridge YB 1918"

Since the pandemic hit and everyone else discovered going outside, I've mostly avoided riding the #SchuylkillRiverTrail into #philadelphia – but I had a rare weekday morning free and I've been wanting to go the distance to the #Manayunk bridge, so that's what happened today.

New (to me) #Motorcycle dealership visited. Quaker City Motor Sports in the #Manayunk neighborhood of #Philly. My bike is out front; the second bike inside is one my future son-in-law is considering: A 2023 Royal Enfield Hunter 350, which has a list price of $3,995 with 3 year warranty. 😱
