#MarconiPepper

Peppers, eggplants, basil cuttings, and potted marigolds that haven't been replanted yet.

I'm actually really impressed how good the peppers are growing this year. Even the pathetic looking Jalapenos grew out of their root bound funk and look pretty good.

I put some of the basil cuttings I didn't pot up directly in the soil and that seems to be working ok so far.

A California Wonder 300 pepper that is about 50mm in size. There are fingers at the top of the photo holding the shading leaves back. It is bright green color and looks blocky. They were grown from saved seeds from last year's harvest.Red Marconi peppers. They are a large long and sometimes pointy pepper that will turn red when ripe. There are several peppers seen on the two plants shown in the foreground. There are basil plants in the middle of the bed and on the left side. The right side has a bunch of potted up marigold plants in white containers. The eggplants were bought plants and are 'black beauty'.

Picked some Red Marconi sweet peppers today, September 16, 2024. 10 of them went into the dehydrator after they were split and de-seeded. Going to see if they'll re-hydrate well enough for stuffed peppers. If not it's normal use of the dried peppers so nothing lost except they'll be broken bits instead of slices.

16 Red Marconi sweet peppers after being picked. They are mostly red but some have a little bit of sunburn or bug damage that makes them a little yellowish. They are a long pepper and sometimes folded in on themselves or curled.5 of the largest peppers that have been split on one side most of the way down and the across at the base of the top to peel open and remove the seeds.

Friday, September 6, 2024 harvest. 6 cucumbers, 2 Red Marconi sweet peppers, 1 little *tusk melon, 2 gray zucchini, and a handful of runner beans.

Some of the saved campari tomato seed tomatoes are getting ripe. They taste good!

* rhymes with, realized people probably filter that word because... passive aggressive ellipses and upward thumbs! 🤘

Fruits and vegetables on the lawn, in a photo that was about take 5 because things kept getting added to it and the shadow progressed creating poor lighting. There are cucumbers, squash, peppers, green beans, and a melon that is called a Minnesota Midget which is a small melon similar to a cantaloupe of the *usk melon family. It didn't taste good and a broody hen that was removed from her fake eggs this morning got to eat it.On the vine tomatoes. There are 9 tomatoes ranging from an almost ripe red to green on the tip of the cluster. The largest is about 45mm in diameter. One of the new ripe tomatoes before it was eaten. They are from seeds saved from hybrid on the vine greenhouse tomatoes sold commercially.
