RIP Alan Emrich, the guy that coined the term #4x gaming. I played countless hours of 4x games growing up, including #Civilization, #MasterofOrion and others. Planning on firing up a game of #stellaris to pay homage.

Note that this is not emulation, FreeDOS is booting directly on this hardware. It can even run DOS games, however compatibility doesn't seem to be 100%. Still, seeing one of my favorite games from the 90s - Master of Orion - running on the setup made me quite happy.
When I was a teenager and bought my first computer, there were two games that blew me away with what #PcGaming could be: #MasterOfOrion and #SystemShock. I’ve played plenty of 4X and immersive sims since then, but it’s amazing to see #CitadelStation look this good.

Honestly, this #masteroforion #moo2 remake is borderline making itself. Someone should do this!
✨ Someone should remake Master of Orion 2.
No innovations, no bells and whistles, no fancy nothing. Just make it work on modern devices, make the UI not lag, and add cross platform multiplayer so people can have a match across mobile/mac/windows.
That would be the best. The #game holds up remarkably well.
