Frosty September Morning It was late September and at 7am it was 60 degrees outside, unusually mild for Maine standards this time of year. I took a walk to try and capture some last glimpses of color, when I came across this beautiful flower. It was a frosty September morning after all.

An August Morning Boats are docked peacefully at Wells Harbor in Maine. It is a cloudy sky in the early morning hours, but the forecast for the day is hot and humid with the skies clearing by noon. It won't be long before the boaters are out and about and enjoying a day on the water.

Golden Rays Last sunrise of 2023 at Wells Beach, Maine. After the sun had risen above the horizon, it quickly climbed behind some clouds that moved in. The golden colors and rays of light came bursting through those clouds.

Magical This evening, October 10, 2024, at 7:30 pm at my home in southern Maine. My wife came in from outside and said, quick, come outside. She had seen the northern lights years ago and she knew it was something I really wanted to see. I stepped outside and was amazed by the sky. It was a glowing bright red, and then slowly started to move and colors jumped around. It was magical, I was in absolute awe. I didn't have time to jump into my car and drive somewhere that I could compose a better picture. I was more than happy to just watch it from my little house in the woods and capture it above the trees.

Tenth of December With a few inches of wet sticky snow overnight, I just had to get a few pictures. With limited time, I drove to a couple local spots. I liked the not quite frozen pond at the mill with the slushy look, and with all the branches coated with snow, they had to be part of the picture.

Dock Square

Dock Square Dock Square is a public square in Kennebunkport, Maine. This view is standing behind Alisson's Restaurant looking across the Kennebunk River. The square is popular with tourists browsing the shops, boutiques and galleries, housed in former homes and 18th-century warehouses. Most of the tourists leave after Labor Day but return in full force for the town's Christmas Prelude. The square sees a Christmas tree being lit in the center of the square; a tradition that began in 1982. In addition, a fireworks festival is held in the square annually on July 4. Former U.S. president George H. W. Bush and first lady Barbara often shopped in Dock Square while staying at nearby Walker's Point Estate.

One For You One For Me This is one of my favorite spots on Marginal Way in Ogunquit Maine. I believe it's the highest spot along the path and the views are just incredible. I say one of my favorite spots, but anywhere along Marginal Way is my favorite spot.

Cider Mill Photo Snow Cider Mill, North Berwick, Maine. A trip to this quite pond right after a wet snow. I love "photo snow" when the snow has just the right amount of moisture in it to stick to everything. A winter wonderland!

Glow and Lights Holiday lights at Footbridge Beach in Ogunquit, Maine. A yearly tradition in Ogunquit to light the footbridge for the season. The coastal towns in Maine really know how to ramp things up for the holidays. On this morning, I walked across the beautifully lit bridge to an amazing orange glow on the horizon as the sun began to rise.

After the Storm Black and White There was a heavy snow fall over night and I knew it would make for some great photos. Although the forecast called for clouds all day, I wanted to get out while the wet snow was still stuck to everything. This is cider mill pond in North Berwick, Maine. A quiet little pond made even quieter with the fresh snow.

December to Remember December at Nubble Lighthouse in Cape Neddick, Maine. It's always festive in December at Nubble Light. Most coastal Maine towns have great decorations for the holiday, but I don't think any top the Nubble Lighthouse.
