When I arrived at the campsite, there was just a gentle breeze – so I calmly set up everything for the night 😊 But over time, the gusts of wind kept getting stronger… I was already lying in the rooftop tent when things started to shake quite a bit 😬 And then – a loud bang. Once… twice… 💥💥

Shit… that definitely sounded like metal hitting metal. I paused for a second – and then came the shock: SHIT. I’ve never left my rooftop tent that fast 😳
The storm had actually torn out my entire awning setup, including the titanium pegs – and two of them had slammed into my car 😵💫
Well… damage done. So I gathered what was left in the horizontal rain and quickly tossed it all into the car 💦🌀

Back up into the tent I went. My hope: The wind will calm down soon… 😮💨 and maybe we’d be able to get some sleep.

But while Sam and I were still lying in the tent, the section that folds out over the car kept getting lifted by the wind ️ It caused the ladder to shift until it folded completely against the vehicle – I had no choice but to jump out 😅⬇️
THAT’S IT! I’m done!!

The wind had also pushed the outer fabric and frame slightly out of position. No real damage, but definitely not how it’s supposed to be 😬
So I fixed what I could, brought Sam safely into the car 🐶🚗, took down the tent in the middle of the storm – and drove through a tunnel to the neighboring fjord.

And there? Just minutes later: no wind, calm skies – and a breathtaking view of the midnight sun 🌅✨
What a crazy contrast! 😍🙌

So I got a #Mavic4Pro and tested it out during sunset yesterday evening. It’s an awesome #drone, no doubt about it. Great camera, pretty quiet, and all in all a joy to fly.
