O período de festas mais aguardado do Nordeste já começou e tem grandes novidades. O Bumba Meu São João em São Luís é um espaço festivo do Maranhão, considerado um dos maiores do mundo. O evento promete agitar a capital maranhense durante os dias 13, 14, 15, 16, 19 e 21 de junho, com shows de grandes artistas nacionais e regionais, na área externa do estádio Castelão. Os ingressos estão à venda apenas para acesso ao camarote, mas 95% do acesso do público ao evento será de forma gratuita.

Entre os artistas confirmados está o cantor Felipe Amorim, considerado o ‘rei do after’ e que garante a diversão. “Estou feliz demais de levar meu show para o Bumba Meu São João em São Luís, vamos estrear essa festa com tudo, fazer uma farra massa demais. Quero todo mundo lá curtindo com a gente”, comenta.

O line-up completo é muito eclético: passa pelo forró, vaquejada, funk, música eletrônica, sertanejo e a cultura regional, com shows de Xand Avião, Leonardo, Guilherme Dantas, Mari Fernandez, Calcinha Preta, MC Daniel, Zé Vaqueiro, Matheus e Kauan, Matheus Fernandes, Nattan, Dennis DJ, Jonas Esticado, Manim Vaqueiro, Luan Santana, Gustavo Mioto, Felipe Amorim, Toca do Vale, Henrique e Juliano, Ávine Vinny e Zé Cantor.

Com realização da MA Produções, produção nacional da Vybbe e produção local da 4Mãos Entretenimento, com apoio do Governo do Estado do Maranhão e do Ministério do Turismo e patrocínio dos Correios, a festa tem como objetivo ampliar a cultura maranhense com destaque para todo o Brasil. “O São João do Maranhão é reconhecido em todo o mundo por durar muitos dias e valorizar a cultura local. Will the media learn the right lesson from the Ronna McDaniel debacle?

Sadly, #MSNBC #management couched the decision to drop #Ronna #McDaniel in a blizzard of corporate speak.

(“No organization, particularly a newsroom, can succeed unless it is cohesive and aligned … It has become clear that this appointment undermines that goal.”)

Funny — the journalists who spoke up said McDaniel’s departure was required to
🔸preserve their journalistic mission and the network’s credibility,
🔸not out of any need for “alignment.”

We can only hope that NBC and other news organizations take away something more than “don’t hire a MAGA mouthpiece”

A few ideas:

• Create a #mission #statement that affirms your goals are telling the #truth and defending #democracy, which protects the First Amendment — not fake balance.
• #Stop #pretending four-times-indicted former president Donald Trump and his movement are presenting #alternative “#policies” as a normal party would. They are fighting for an alternate system: authoritarianism.
• Politicians’ outright #lies must be identified, not just labeled as their “response” or “position.”
• Instead of obsessing over #polls, devote extensive coverage to #analyzing the Heritage Foundation’s “#Project2025” and Trump’s #fascist #agenda. Feature #historians and political #scientists during news segments (not only on panels) to put Trump’s views and statements in context.
• #Don’t excerpt a few words from a Trump rally or speech, dub it an “argument” and #ignore his mental short-circuits and #deteriorating #intellect.

I'm no fan of Ronna #McDaniel, but argue that of the three qualifications to be on NBC or MSNBC's air--resume, insight, and liberal outlook--she deserved a couple of weeks to show that she could deliver insight to the MAGA brain.

You don't have to agree with someone to learn from them. It was clear from McDaniel's performance on Sunday that she is unrepentant. Nevertheless, we all could have learned from her had she shared some insight. 1/2
