We'll, after about a decade of riding and enough kms to just about circumnavigate the continent of Australia, it's finally time to say goodbye to my trusty old folding electric bike. I'm currently trialing a cargo bike with built-in kids seat for school runs from Lug+Carrie & will probably buy refurbished soon. So if anyone in #Brisbane / #Meanjin is looking for an #eBike on the cheap, this one still goes quite well for its age and with a bit of tender care (new seat etc.) could be done up to be pretty decent. Anyway, let me know and share with anyone who might be interested. (Can include kids trailer or not).

This beautiful lady is Solenopsis invicta. Measuring barely over 2 mm long, she is a member of an incredibly successful species.

Unfortunately, she is far outside her native range, and doing incredible damage to her local ecosystem.

It isn't her fault that she's a fire ant.

The QLD government confirmed the 2032 Olympic Games venues, which includes that new 63k-seat stadium in the middle of Barrambin / Victoria park.

Bruce Abernethy says:

"Barrambin has been a meeting place for peoples from across Southeast Queensland for tens of thousands of years; providing a new reason to gather there would continue that cultural tradition."

That's one way to turn an insult... into another one.

A single solitary wet palm frond is about the only effect I can observe from the house after an unexpectedly quiet night seeing out #TCAlfred in north-side #Brisbane / #Meanjin. The kid’s rain gauge stood up well and pretty accurate against the #bom figure! Thinking of those facing power outages and an ongoing threat of flooding.

We are in north of #Meanjin / #Brisbane and at this stage have our weather being blown in from South-West rather than the cyclonic onshore winds being felt further South - hence the blue sky. Our time will come soon enough as Alfred dawdles across the coast line. #widetolerances
