Picked up MechWarrior Clans because it was on sale.

It's good, but oh man. I had forgotten how everything about the Clans is this over-the-top. It's 40k without the self-awareness. Helldivers 2 presents a more believable space fascism.

MechWarrior 5: Clans is on sale on steam and it has me wondering....

Is it possible to make a Mech game that can make the whole fan base happy?

There're essentially three competing groups, and most people fall into multiple categories:

1. I want to drive big bots and blow stuff up!
2. I want a historically accurate representation of the source material's events, and all deviation is sacrilege
3. I want to infinitely configure and tweak my mechs

Then there's two camps, multiplayer and single player narrative.

I like to configure and blow stuff up, I like a good narrative. I'm not a source purist and I don't really want to work with other humans to enjoy the game.
