B class tram map looking a little worse for wear. I'm guessing the heat earlier this month has melted the glue and caused this issue.

A day like today where it is somehow both 36 degrees air temperature and raining makes these old, unsheltered and inaccessible tram stops in the middle of a wide road pretty unbearable to use

Tram bustitution on the route 78 is still in place following the building fire further south on Chapel Street on Thursday last week

St Vincent's Plaza - one of the few three track tram stop layouts in Melbourne.
It is an important interchange for the 11, 12, 30 and 109 tram lines. It is also the terminus for the 30 which uses a short siding further east.
The southernmost platform features a heritage tram shelter that I believe dates back to the 1930s and the M&MTB.
The third platform services northbound Route 11 services to improve operational efficiency and reduce delays.

New protected bike and tram lane on Swanston Street at Victoria Street after the recent tramworks.
The former siding slash turning track has also been planted with grass and will become a very useful pocket park. Great to see the old signal box retained as well!

New post out today about the new tram stop upgrades that were recently completed on La Trobe Street in Melbourne.
A great example of a project that we'll hopefully see a lot more of in the future!

Love that new tram stop smell!
Brand new level access tram stops on La Trobe Street, this one is at Swanston Street.
Built to a facing platform island design, it includes a double length platform that's big enough for two E class trams, three pedestrian crossings per side and new passenger information boards.
It also has "State Library Station" for the soon to be open Metro Tunnel!

A blast from the past!
A route 24 enjoyer keeps removing the tape that PTV stuck over the top of this tram stop flag in Kew when the route was abolished in 2014. It's happened at least four times that I've noticed.
Never stop believing I guess...
What happens when you don't do a hook turn or check for trams when turning...

Swanston Street littered with 'dead' trams this morning due to a power fault further north at Franklin Street
Interesting that the extra route 48a trams put on for the Taylor Swift concerts in Melbourne are terminating at Burnley Street in Richmond instead of Jolimont. Not a location that I've seen before on a desto.
I assume this is being done to spread out the shunting so that the sidings at Punt Road don't get too congested.

E class tram 6067 has broken its pantograph running a Route 70a service to the Australian Open.
All Route 70 trams are diverting down Wellington Parade until it's cleared. By the look of things though it could be a while.
Appears to have happened while making the left turn from Batman Avenue onto the segregated tram tracks towards Swan Street.

Just uploaded 33 photos of the tram works that have started at the intersection of La Trobe Street and Swanston Street in the city.
All released as usual under a Creative Commons license (CC-BY-SA).

PTV are still referring to the Route 3a tram over two months after it was abolished

The Route 3a is back!
Route 3 trams are diverting down Kings Way to the Queen Victoria Market this morning. The 3a weekend route via St Kilda was officially abolished last fortnight but the "a" suffix is used across the network if there is any diversion from a usual route. Hence why we see the 3a here.
This B2 tram seen here on Market Street about to make the left turn into Flinders Lane.
