March Horoscope: “Unexpected revelations for Taurus, the Lion gets back in the game, new relationships for Sagittarius”

March begins with an energy that invites closing out cycles and preparing for new beginnings. The Full Moon in a total eclipse on the 3rd in Virgo brings order and clarity to what isn’t working, especially in practical matters and relationships. It’s a period of inner cleansing before embarking on the path toward what truly matters.

Mercury retrograde in Pisces until the 20th slows down communication, postpones decisions, but stimulates reflection. Venus enters Aries on the 6th, bringing energy to relationships, while Mars in Pisces on the 3rd shifts action toward sensitivity and intuition. Saturn and Neptune in conjunction during the first days of the month mark the need to face responsibilities with greater awareness.

On the 19th, the New Moon in Pisces invites new emotional beginnings, a renewal of inner vision, and planting intentions that will mature in the coming months. On the 20th, with the Sun in Aries, the new zodiac cycle begins, bringing energy, clarity, and determination. March appears as a month of transition: first, reflection and cleansing, then a restart and impetus toward the future.

The article “Unexpected Revelations for Taurus, the Lion Gets Back in the Game, New Relationships for Sagittarius” comes from Il Fatto Quotidiano.

#Lunar Occultation of #Mercury

Telescopic snapshots capture Mercury's rare lunar occultation as it disappears behind the #Moon's edge, visible before and after in the western sky post-sunset. This brief event, lasting 3 minutes near Sallisaw, Oklahoma, highlights a month of bright planetary displays.

Total Lunar Eclipse Week!

On March 3, the full Moon slips into Earth’s shadow, glowing copper-red in a total lunar eclipse. No telescope needed — just clearer skies than the rain/snow currently threatening. Of course.

When it clears: Jupiter shines after sunset, Orion and M42 dazzle, and planetary pairings grace the evening sky.

Four planets in the evening sky as seen from the mountains of southern New Mexico on 26 February.

The first photo only shows three planets because twilight is still bright: Venus is low and centered...in a small clear band of sky that has scattered cirrus. Mercury is above and right of Venus where the sky is a dark shade of robin's egg blue. Saturn is near the top of the frame and left of center. Saturn appears bright because it sits in a dark blue sky.

Second image is a finder chart from planetarium sky simulation software.

3rd image captures four planets. This portrait orientation image is a slightly closer look at this part of the sky, and ten minutes later than the first photo. Venus and Mercury are both close to thicker bands of cirrus clouds. Saturn is high up and easiest to see.

A bit right of Saturn is a faint star. That faint star is actually Neptune.

The 4th graphic is a finder chart for the 3rd image.

Bright twilight has cirrus clouds showing a deep, dark red-orange hue in a yellow-orange sky near the horizon. The sky transitions to blue, then darkens toward the top of the frame. Distant mountains are a dark silhouette along with a couple nearby trees.

Venus is below center, in yellow sky. Mercury, slightly above and right of Venus, is in blue sky that is not dark. Saturn is highest, in dark blue sky.A finder chart for the previous photo, made with planetarium sky simulation software.Ten minutes later, with a longer lens, the fourth planet, Neptune is visible just to the right of Saturn. Yay, in spite of #Mercury having dropped to +1.25 mag. and more clouds than yesterday here it is again, together with low #Venus, 1/2 hour ago this evening from #Bochum, Germany: two images 3 minutes apart, with solar depressions of 8°40' and 9°10', resp., Mercury at 5.3 and 4.8 and Venus at 1.3 and 0.9 degrees elevation, both 1/4 second at f/2.8 and ISO 800. Saturn was also detected again, much higher and way out of the frame.
