New company on #BayFarm island in #EastBay says they have created the “#NextGeneration” of #batteries that are safer than explosion prone #lithiumIon types and will revolutionize industries from small portable devices to #ElectricVehicles.

Many new #batteries use a liquid #lithium-ion core that can leak and combust, while #Alameda based #AnthroEnergy’s solid-state batteries use a patented technology to solidify the core. The developer claims the innovative tech creates a non-flammable, semi-solid battery with 35% more energy density than traditional batteries, and is resistant to leaking, warping and combustion.

They hope to get more investment into their #BayArea plant and begin production of half a million individual battery cells a year.

The Mercury News reports
Alameda is attracting businesses like Bay Farm Island based Anthro Energy, which is gaining a reputation for
fostering innovation. It's also attracting the attention of venture capital investors seeking to get in on the ground floor of Anthro’s 31,000- square-foot facility that will produce half a million Anthro battery cells annually.

“What we're doing is building advanced
technology that redefines what's possible for lithium-ion batteries,” Anthro Energy CEO David Mackanic said to an audience of employees and investors on Wednesday. “We're building a
highly-scalable platform that can respond to rapidly accelerating electrification demands across virtually every industry.”

states that Substance Abuse and

should not fund interventions like
syringe service programs, claiming
they "only facilitate illegal drug use

e Challenges harm reduction

to potentially bring civil or criminal

After over 130 yrs of providing food to America, ranging from #Pineapples to #Pears to #Peaches to #PetFoods, modern marketing #mismanagement puts #California cannery #DelMonte into big #Bankruptcy blaming "borrowing" binge that led to billions in 21st century debt.

Once one of the great west coast companies, "Del Monte Plant No. 1" built in post earthquake #SanFrancisco was heralded as the largest #fruit and #vegetable cannery in the world, employing 2,500 people and producing 200,000 cans of Del Monte brand food per day.

Later, it became a subsidiary of RJ Reynolds tobacco, and owner of #SunKist oranges & #StarKist tuna. In 2006, Del Monte became the second largest pet foods corp by purchasing Meow Mix & Milk Bone brands, but since then, HQ moved to suburban Walnut Creek CA and many of the Del Monte operations & brands have been thinned out and sold off. #DJT expected to quickly run to pals in #SCOTUS to overturn 3 judge panel's ban in US Court of International Trade to resume his chaotic #WhiteHouse wank off of tariff tirades that many experts agree exceeds executive branch authority to push puerile policies purely on whim.

Typically tariffs must be approved by Congress, but naranja nincompoop claims national emergency requires him to bypass longstanding legislative process.

The court refuted the executive branch excess succinctly as "Worldwide and Retaliatory Tariff Orders exceed any authority granted to the President by IEEPA to regulate importation by means of tariffs,” referring to the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

Joseph Navarro faced one felony count turning a section of the Burlingame train station into an apartment, complete with a bedroom, a gym and a living room, prosecutors said at the trial. After several days of testimony and closing arguments on Tuesday, the jury began its deliberations Wednesday morning and came to a consensus in the afternoon.

The jury also found true that the charges were filed within the proper statute of limitations, which is three years of when the crime is discovered or should have been discovered. Defense lawyers had argued that the initial discovery should have meant the charges were filed too late.

“We're very pleased that the jury was able to see through the defense and recognize that he had no authorization ."NEWS ~ CRIME AND PUBLIC SAFETY - Caltrain employee guilty of using public funds to build secret apartment 1n train station Joseph Navarro spent $38,000 on renovating the Burlingame station between 2019 and 2021

While it served as the San Jose Mercury News headquarters, the building’s main entrance featured a portico with dramatic bronze columns resembling the typebars of a typewriter, arranged in a semicircle, and a sculpture suspended from the ceiling. The building was set back from the highway by an expansive green lawn. After its conversion to the headquarters of Supermicro, the portico was demolished but replaced by an entrance with bronze columns in a semicircle, paying homage to the San Jose Mercury News.A screenshot of OpenHistoricalMap showing the building during the 1990s, while it still served as the newspaper headquarters. The judge rejected the city’s

claims that the officers’ names were legally privileged and noted that “the identity of the officers provides important context about the contents” of McNamara’s texts. Cousins added that “it could be particularly relevant” to Green’s lawsuit claims of excessive force and that police culture and training contributed to his shooting.

There was no indication Thursday that the city plans to publicly release any of the information disclosed to Green’s legal team. In response to an email from the Bay Area News Group, City Attorney Nora Frimann wrote, “Our office simply responded to the litigation discovery requests in the time frame directed by the court.”In a text message Officer McNamara wrote, “The other day this n— lawyer is like Mr. McNamara, you know we can still find you guilty of excessive force right? I'm like, hmmm yeah then (what) happens?? ... Think I give

a f— what y’all n— think?!???? I’ll shoot you too!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!” The latter message was the basis of a gun-violence restraining order the police department secured against McNamara around the same time it submitted his name for state decertification to prohibit him from serving as a police officer again in California. The restraining order, which was among the terms of McNamara’s resignation, barred him from possessing 10 rifles, four shotguns and four pistols he kept at his home"

Last Sunday, San Jose's #MercuryNews (5th largest of #newspapers in the US) had a 1-page piece comparing #California and #Florida and their governors, who are both presidential hopefuls.

Bars were used to show rankings of the two states, both overall and in 8 aspects, allegedly from U.S. News.

The claims seem dubious, with FL ranking higher than CA in all bars except healthcare. In education, book-banning FL was ranked # 1 but CA (with has at least 2 of the nation's top-10 universities) # 20. In economy, they gave FL # 7 and CA (which is often ranked among the largest nations) # 29.

So, I must suspect bullshit, and perhaps political bias.

I went looking at the paper's ownership, and it now leads back to a hedge fund (Alden Global Capital) that seems to have a history of gutting companies it takes over.
