While project still needs some #GIS person in the office to setup the project, but thanks to QGIS and Mergin Maps several people in the field can collect data easily even without extensive GIS skills.

I'm glad the developers of my favorite Open Source Geo software listen to my rants. Found a bug. Went overboard figuring it out. Emailed the developers. Developer confirms it's a bug. I sent all my data - they will work on it. Yay #qgis #merginmaps #postgres
@hareldan I've been working very hard since September, alongside many others, to make sure that things don't break when ArcMap goes away.
On the plus side, part of the mitigation strategy has been transferring workflows out of proprietary ESRI tools and into open source #QGIS and #merginmaps.
We can't be the only ones doing this.

I've found an excellent app to record GPS data alongside metadata or other notes and photos. Quick data entry. It then creates a QGIS file and gpkg file. Upload to their cloud and download to your data management folder. Open the QGIS file and use within QGIS or export the CSV of your data for further analysis. Free for Academia (and free month trial for anyone). #MerginMaps @merginmaps #fieldwork #map #QGIS #OpenSource
