Looking out across 2+ year old revegetation wetland at Moomba Park. Established eucalyptus/ gum trees on horizon before suburban housing. Spikey green plants in the water and edges provide habitat for rewilding with birds 🦅 🦢fish 🐠 🐟 frogs 🐸 toads & insects 🐞 🐜 🦟 🪰 Signage explains egg-tadpole-frog cycle and some local sorts found hereabouts. Seating brown wooden slats on great metal frame and light great concrete base on pedestrian pathway. Grey sky clouds prepare for rainfall to water the bull rushes, grasses, plants, trees, wetland and nearby Merri Creek Looking through spikey green and faded yellow grasses & rushes across grey rocks to water in Moomba Park wetland which is reflecting grey rain-bearing clouds 🌧️ overhead … on the horizon established green leaves, Browne trunks of eucalyptus/ gum trees. Long brown Bark is loose, cascading down from established Eucalyptus/ gum trees. Long green leaves on branches above 👆🏼 On the water’s edge through sunshine between grey rain bearing clouds are lots of creamy white coloured fluffy flowers bending in the wind below on their stems are green and yellowed long thin leaves that are horizontal Near Merri Creek on May 27th 2025 late am.

Creating Frog Habitat Workshop celebrate World Environment Day with us! When: 6pm - 8pm, Thursday 5th June Where: NECCHi Newlands Neighbourhood House​, 20 Murray Road, Coburg North Learn what constitutes key habitat elements for frogs and how you can incorporate them at home, in your local wildlife corridor or as part of a conservation group 🐸 Local ecologist, David De Angelis, will lead us on a virtual walking tour of “good” froggy habitat. This will include key habitat elements for frogs, biological information on local frog species, and how to identify them. MCMC WaterWatch Coordinator Julia Cirillo will run a short frog identification session, and the Friends of Bracken Creek will give us a brief tour of their work on the Bracken Creek and how local frog species will be supported. Bookings essential via @merri_creek
