"The Chain" is a song by British-#American #rock band #FleetwoodMac, released on their 1977 album #Rumours. It is the only song from the album with writing credits for all five band members (#StevieNicks, #LindseyBuckingham, #ChristineMcVie, #JohnMcVie, and #MickFleetwood). "The Chain" was created from combinations of several previously rejected materials, including compositions from Buckingham, Nicks, and McVie. The song was assembled.

Fleetwood Mac

New Rhino High Fidelity release of Fleetwood Mac’s second self-titled album…this one with Buckingham/Nicks.

Yes, it’s a pivot away from the Bob Welch blues era, but this is where they broke big (after a year+ of promotion by the label).

New remaster and pressing is great. (Although this is the best it’s been, if you’re happy with what you’ve got, you’re probably fine.)

Fleetwood Mac - s/t LP cover.

White background, a doorway with mick Fleetwood, tall with a cane, and John McVie, looking tiny (clearly kneeling on shoes), juggling. The Rhino High Fidelity OBI covers the left side.

The black LP plays on a vintage, restored Bang & Olufsen Beogram 8002 linear-tracking turntable to the right.

#MickFleetwood re-recorded “These Strange Times,” a mostly-forgotten track from #FleetwoodMac’s most forgotten album (Time, 1995) — and somehow made it feel now.

We talked about his hopes for one more Mac album, his tribute to #PeterGreen, how a weird spoken-word song finally found its moment, and why being the rhythm section means staying flexible through 18 lineup changes.
