Migrantifa Reading Group: Palestine and Marxism by Joseph Daher📚

In the next meeting of the reading group on Palestine and Marxism, we will read the fifth chapter, “The Palestinian National Movement.”

The session will focus on the Palestinian liberation movement after the Nakba, its right to resistance, the limits of its strategy, and its allies.

We also want to discuss together what lessons can be learned from the successes and failures of the movement.

Please read the fifth chapter before the session!

Everyone is welcome to join; prior knowledge of the topic is not necessary.

Feel free to come even if you were unable to attend the last meeting.

If you still need the book, please let us know.

We look forward to seeing you and hearing your questions and thoughts!

Migrantifa Lesekreis: Palestine and Marxism von Joseph Daher📚

In der nächsten Sitzung des Lesekreis zu Palestine and Marxism lesen wir das fünfte Kapitel “The Palestinian National Movement”.

In der Sitzung wird es um die Palästinensische Befreiungsbewegung nach der Nakba, ihr Recht auf Widerstand, die Limits ihrer Strategie und ihre Verbündeten gehen.

Wir wollen auch gemeinsam darüber Diskutieren, welche Lehren sich aus den Erfolgen und Misserfolgen der Bewegung ziehen lassen.

Lest bitte vor der Sitzung das fünfte Kapitel!

Alle sind herzlich eingeladen, Vorwissen und Kenntisse zum Thema sind nicht notwendig.

Kommt gerne auch wenn ihr bei letzter Sitzung nicht teilnehmen konntet.

The Migrantifa reading circle is entering its next round!

This time, we want to devote ourselves to a materialist analysis of the history of the Palestinian liberation struggle with Joseph Daher's book ‘Palestine and Marxism’.

The Palestinian liberation struggle and the solidarity movement against genocide have become central to left-wing movements internationally.

Around the world, anti-colonial, anti-fascist, feminist, Marxist, queer, ecological and anti-war movements are joining the fight for a free Palestine. In Berlin, too, the Palestinian movement has become the most important anti-racist movement.

We invite anyone interested in the topic to join our reading circle, regardless of their prior knowledge!

Please read the introduction and Chapter 2, ‘Antisemitism, Zionism and the Nakba,’ and bring your thoughts and questions with you.

Der Migrantifa-Lesekreis geht in die nächste Runde!

Dieses mal wollen wir uns mit Joseph Daher's Buch "Palestine and Marxism" einer materialistisch Analyse der Geschichte des palästinensischen Befreiungskampfs widmen.

Der Befreiungskampf der Palästinenser*innen und die Solidaritätsbewegung gegen den Genozid sind international zum Kern linker Bewegungen geworden.

Weltweit verorten sich antikoloniale, antifaschistische, feministische, marxistische, queere, ökologische und antikriegsbewegungen im Kampf für ein freies Palästina. Auch in Berlin ist die Palästinabewegung die wichtigste antirassitische Bewegung geworden.

Wir laden alle an dem Thema Interessierten unabhängig von ihren Vorkenntnissen zu unserem Lesekreis ein!

Lest dafür bitte die Einführung und das 2. Kapitel "Antisemitism, Zionism and the Nakba" und bringt eure Gedanken und Fragen mit.

Some claim that exploiters like Elon Musk have never actually worked a day in their lives. We wouldn't say that.

As a left-wing group, we know how much work it can be to prove to a broad mass of people that capitalists always end up allying themselves with the right. Musk has been doing nothing else for years!

He does a first-class job of persuasion and leaves no means unturned, from daily newspaper headlines to disgusting camera ops with Trump to scandalous public court cases, to take us on his journey along the “capitalist to right-wing populist” pipeline.

It is not enough for us that someone shows us how capital and right-wing ideology come together, we also want to talk about why this happens again and again.

As leftists, we see the crisis, capital and the right in the same context, and they often come up together in conversations - especially recently.

There are reasons for this and sometimes even laws that allow us to penetrate together what constitutes this unholy trinity.

Manche behaupten, dass Ausbeuter wie Elon Musk eigentlich keinen Tag ihres Lebens wirklich gearbeitet haben. Das würden wir so nicht sagen.

Wir als linke Gruppe wissen wie viel Arbeit es sein kann einer breiten Masse an Leuten zu beweisen, dass sich Kapitalisten am Ende immer mit den Rechten alliieren. Musk tut seit Jahren nichts anderes!

Er leistet erstklassige Überzeugungsarbeit und lässt von täglichen Zeitungsheadlines über ekelerregende Kameraops mit Trump bis hin zu skandalösen öffentlichen Gerichtsprozessen kein Mittel ungenutzt um uns auf seiner Reise entlang der „Kapitalist zu Rechtspopulist“ Pipeline mitzunehmen.

Uns reicht es nicht, dass uns jemand vorlebt wie Kapital und rechte Ideologie zusammenkommen, wir wollen auch darüber reden, warum das immer wieder passiert.

Als Linke sehen wir Krise, Kapital, und Rechts in einem Zusammenhang, und sie kommen in Gesprächen - vor allem in letzter Zeit - oftmals zusammen auf...

Mehr als 5.000 Menschen haben am 19. Februar 2025 in #Berlin mit einer Kundgebung und #Gedenkdemonstration an den rassistischen Anschlag in #Hanau vor fünf Jahren erinnert. Mit Portraits, Kerzen und Redebeiträgen gedachten sie Gökhan #Gültekin, Sedat #Gürbüz, Said Nesar #Hashemi, Mercedes #Kierpacz, Hamza #Kurtović, Vili Viorel #Păun, Fatih #Saraçoğlu, Kaloyan #Velkov und Ferhat #Unvar. Nach der Kundgebung am Abend in der High-Deck-Siedlung führte die #Demonstration in Richtung #Sonnenallee in N#eukölln. Auf dutzenden mit #Lichterketten beleuchteten Schildern, die Teilnehmer*innen hochhielten, waren die Namen von weiteren Opfern rassistischer Gewalt der letzten Jahre zu lesen.

Zu der Veranstaltung aufgerufen hatte die #Migrantifa Berlin. Ihre Antwort auf #Naziterror und zunehmende rassistische #Gewalt ist #Selbstorganisation. Die Konsequenz aus Hanau bleibt #Widerstand.

It is the fifth anniversary of the racist attack in Hanau, but instead of protecting migrant lives in Germany, the discourse in Germany has only moved further to the right. Racism in Germany is being relativised and racialised people are being portrayed as the real culprits.

But why do racist narratives reach so many people? Why do wealthy entrepreneurs support the spread of these narratives and the implementation of racist laws? And why is racism on the rise, especially with the increasing crisis situation in Germany and around the world?

To explore these questions, we will devote our reading group to a Marxist perspective on racism. We will read and discuss chapter 4 ‘Racism in the European migration and border regime from the perspective of a materialist theory of domination’ from the anthology ‘The Diversity of Exploitation’ by Mendívil and Sarbo.
