#MirabellePlum

The #pear #tree is in eco mode this year (these are all the blossoms we got 😂), whereas the #Mirabelle #plum tree goes all out. 🎇
Oh, and our #jostaberry bush is in bloom too! I only got it in autumn from my parents' garden so I didn't know what to expect. For those of you who don't know this berry, it's a cross between gooseberry and black currant. In German we call it #Jochelbeere (that's the name I would use) or #Jostabeere (*Jo*hannisbeere + *Sta*chelbeere - the German names of the "parent" fruits). It tastes just like you would expect and the bushes are thornless

A close-up, low-angle shot showcases a cluster of delicate white pear blossoms against a vibrant, clear blue sky. The blossoms are in various stages of bloom, some fully open with pristine white petals, while others are still budding with hints of green. The petals are slightly ruffled and have subtle veining. The centre of each open flower reveals numerous slender white filaments topped with yellow anthers, and a few have reddish-pink pistils.
A few young, light green leaves with visible veins are emerging from the same branch, providing a contrast to the white flowers. The branch itself is a textured brown, showing its bark. The lighting is bright and natural, highlighting the translucency of the petals and the details of the flower's reproductive structures. The focus is sharp on the blossoms, with the blue sky providing a clean and uncluttered backdrop. The overall impression is one of springtime freshness and delicate beauty.A medium, low-angle shot captures several slender branches of a flowering Mirabelle plum tree against a partly cloudy, light blue sky. The branches are dark brown and covered in numerous clusters of small, white flower buds. Some of the buds have just begun to open, revealing delicate white petals and yellow stamens within. Tiny, fresh green leaves are also emerging along the branches. The blossoms and buds are densely packed, suggesting a profuse bloom. The sky in the background features wispy white clouds, providing a soft contrast to the dark branches and white flowers. The lighting appears to be natural daylight, casting subtle shadows on the blossoms and branches. The overall impression is one of early spring and new growth.A close-up shot focuses on a slender, light brown stem of a plant, likely a currant or gooseberry bush, against a blurred background of muted green and brown tones. Along the stem, there are several clusters of developing flowers and young leaves.
On the left side of the stem, a few open flowers are visible. They have small, reddish-purple petals surrounding a pale green and white centre with prominent white stamens tipped with yellow anthers. These flowers are nestled amongst small, crinkled, light green leaves with serrated edges.
Further along the stem, towards the right, are clusters of tightly closed flower buds. These buds are a mix of reddish-brown and pale green, indicating they are yet to open. More of the characteristic crinkled, light green leaves are also present, growing directly from the stem and at the base of the flower clusters.

December 4: Mirabelle Plum - Linden Blossom Spread

Oooh! Four Days in, we're finally getting into flavors I couldn't recreate by setting off a wind-up toy in the produce section of a Target and making jam out of the first two fruits it bumped into

The question is, is it good? Well, do you like pleasantly inoffensive sweetness with a fancy title? Of course you do, you're on Mastodon. A bit like if honey was a jam

Front of tiny jar of Mirabelle Plum Linden Blossom Spread. No discernable features to the jam other than a nice orangey brown colorThe plum linden spread in it's little doorway on the Advent calendar. The doorway says "joy and peace". I'd take even one tbhBack of the tiny jar listing the ingredients: Mirabelle plums, sugar, brown sugar, linden blossom extract, lemon juice, pectin. The labels on the front and on the back got their stories straight . Also cute drawing of linden blossoms which are apparently small and yellowPlum Linden Blossom Spread on a raisin scone. I had to stir it up a bit bc it separated. It's (you're tired of hearing this) a pleasant orange color, but no discernable evidence of a fruit (rind, fiber, etc)
