Hey #HamRadio folks, please take a moment to answer my quick poll.

If you put your current Band and Mode into an #APRS beacon, does that count as a spot if the actual frequency is not included?

Secondary road test complete!

The whip makes more noise than the noodle. The remainder of the noodle does a good job of preventing the cable from flapping against the roof.

As expected, SWR on 40 M is whackadoodle and steps will need to be taken. I'm told that using a dremel to remove the powdercoat from the plate where the mount bolts on, as well as the three magnets, will greatly improve this. I will also try a ground to the car.

Looking at the roof of my car from behind the driver's-side rear wheel.
The massive three-magnet mount is in the center of the roof.
There is a whip antenna attached to the magnet mount.
The feedline from the magnet mount is threaded inside a segment of a blue pool noodle that is wedged under the roof rack rail.
The feedline then drops and enters the other segment of a blue pool noodle which has been cut up and inserted into the rear window.Looking at the roof of my car from beside the driver's door (which is open).
The whip antenna can be seen rising from the roof and hiding against the tree branches.
The two segments of blue pool noodle can be seen, covering the feed line as it goes from the magnet mount and in through the rear window.

Road test complete!
The pool noodle is super quiet. I was slightly concerned there might be loads of wind noise, but that turns out not to be even slightly the case.

Looking along the rear driver's side window of my car.
There is a blue pool noodle in the top of the car window.
The window is rolled up.A closer look at the rear-facing end of the pool noodle in the car window.
There is a representative piece of coaxial cable exiting the end of the pool noodle and going up out of the photo.A close-up of the forward-facing end of the pool noodle, taken from the inside of the car door.
There is a representative piece of coaxial cable exiting the noodle and disappearing out of frame.

The pool noodle sacrifice is complete!

A blue pool noodle at the top of a car window.
The right end clearly overlaps the window frame; the left end does so only slightly.
The car window is not currently closed on the noodle.Close-up of the rear-facing end of the blue pool noodle.
A large slot has been cut into the pool noodle.
The slot is not centered; this is to enable the coaxial cable to exit the end of the pool noodle.A close-up of the forward-facing end of the blue pool noodle.
A chunk has been removed from the upper section to allow the noodle to fit around the section of the door frame next to the window.
A slot has been cut to allow a coaxial cable to exit into the body of the vehicle.
