Exploring how to get interesting sequences with very simple oscillators in a #VCVRack patch..
Main voice is a sine wave: a single sequence sets quantized notes and modulates the gate length. A sample & hold on the note range adds some unpredictability. Distortion is hit by a fast envelope for little bursts of grit, and one step in the sequence is routed to a filter + delay for contrast.
Underneath: a simple Reese bass.

This is pretty cool. Venetian Snares made his "Traditional Synthesizer Music" album using a bunch of modular. I also see a MachineDrum in there.
#Modular people: is there anything to worry about when patching one case to another if both cases are plugged into the same power bar? All I want to do is patch a single cable - from an envelope follower - to my second case. I know it probably doesn’t matter whether it’s one cable or 100, but just wondering.
