DENSE FOG LIKELY:
The #Northland will see plenty of #fog tonight and Monday morning as #warm, #moist air moves into the region with persistent #rain chances.
The fog will be #dense in spots, especially in the #TwinPorts and #North #Shore.
Plan accordingly for the morning #commute and be safe!
Instead of using the word "spooky" on Halloween, if you really want to freak people out, use the word "moist" instead.
I've deliberately blurred the distinction between observatories and telescopes there, and approximated some of the ages, but the point still stands.
Cerro Armazones and Cerro Paranal are both in the running for least moist place on Earth. Excellent for astronomy, somewhat detrimental to astronomers. Siding Spring Observatory is rather moister than most astronomers that have used the telescopes there would like, but it's still not as moist as La Specola. La Specola is right next to a river, ensuring constant moistness.
I do love trying new things, so I have accepted the challenge to include the word 'moist' and all its variations in every post that I write throughout the month of September.
