So I got to play in a text-based spooky one-shot tonight, and my very pastel painter of a character wound up an equally pastel ghost by the end of the night when magic happened that resulted in her death.

And now all I can think is that I want to be able to play her as a ghost in a #Monsterhearts2 game at some point.

I had a really great time running a game of #monsterhearts2 and also I'm now dead from a) running a game and b) overstimulation

eyyy, so far I've done:

✓ eat breakfast
✓ have therapy
✓ Blanket Time™ with Midna
✓ get dressed
- stay home until cannabis is delivered
- go to The People's Coffee to work on #writing stuff/character sketches for my #monsterhearts2 one-shot this weekend

I've actually done a little bit of character work for the game: writing lists of simple, divisive motivations for side characters. I still want to: finish the list of names, come up with scene location ideas, and maybe flesh out one or two scene ideas in case my players are shy about starting the game

Monsterhearts is like a nice halfway point between, say, D&D and the DMless games¹ I've been facilitating, in terms of "DM" prep. like, I don't *need* to prep for hours before running a game, BUT, I find having, like, lists of names really helpful

Welp. My android seer may have been noticed by an eldritch entity in my #Monsterhearts2 game by poking around in the head of a guy that sent an email with a magic sigil in it to my character's parents.

#TTRPG players and GMs, what are you currently playing? What do you wish you were playing?

Currently running

- #Pathfinder 1e. Not a fan of the crunch, but it's for my wife
- Taking a short break from #MasksANewGeneration, a #PoweredByTheApocalypse #PBTA supers game but ready to dive back in to the GM seat at a moments notice
- #Trinity #Adventures game. Character creation was a headache compared to other #WOD #WorldOfDarkness games but the characters are fun
- Our #MonsterHearts2 game should be starting up again at some point

Wish I was playing
- #13thAge for the amount of say players get in world building
- #GURPS for the complete characters you get after creation, which CAN be a real chore
- #D6StarWars as it was one of the first games I played and I really like the system
- #CastlesAndCrusades #CNC for the old school style with modern sensibilities
- #VampireTheMasquerade or #VampireTheRequiem. I've got a #VTR campaign I want to run at some point, but I don't know if/when I'll get to it. A long term obsession I haven't had the chance to play in 15-20 some years at this point
- #StarTrek #LastUnicornGames. I like the way they handled life/career paths

Tonight's session of #Monsterhearts2 was an assortment of terrible decisions and it was wonderful.

I just realized I spent hours trying to make a good template format for #MonsterHearts2 character sheets in #Obsidian...

When my friends and I have a perfectly good system that we already use, with a shared google slides presentation.

It’s been literal months for Scheduling Reasons™️ so this was probably the highest pressure set of notes I've made as MC.

Close to it at least.

Are there any #PBTA vibe deity games? Actually, doesn't necc have to be PbtA in specific, more, relatively rules light but not (necc) diceless.

#Monsterhearts2 / #UrbanShadows vibes a plus.

Major focus on interpersonal dynamics including in mechanics.

( #CityOfMists does approach the vibe, but the focus there is on mystery, in multiple senses of the word. )

One thing I love about the experience that was my #Monsterhearts2 game tonight: Our characters were splitting up into scenes, the MC asked us who wanted to go first, and I at no point felt bad about saying someone else should go first since I felt like I talked a lot at the beginning of the session and I wanted someone else to have the spotlight.

Tonight I’m back to my main campaign of #MonsterHearts2. :blobcatdance:

It’s been a minute so I need to recalibrate to the present from the jump backwards in time for the Halloween sessions.
