A dense, dark forest shrouded in an ethereal mist, giving it a mysterious and somewhat eerie appearance. Tall, slender tree trunks, mostly bare or with sparse dark foliage, stretch upwards, disappearing into the pale, misty background. The undergrowth is dark and leafy, adding to the sense of depth and enclosure. The overall lighting is dim, suggesting either dawn, dusk, or heavy cloud cover.

A medium shot, taken at a slight upward angle, shows a thick, mossy tree trunk covered in clusters of ear-shaped, translucent brown fungi. The fungi, likely Wood Ear mushrooms (Auricularia auricula-judae), grow densely along the length of the trunk, predominantly on the right side. They vary in size and shade, with some appearing more reddish-brown and others darker, almost black in the shadowed areas. The texture of the fungi appears gelatinous and slightly wrinkled.
The tree trunk itself is textured with rough bark and patches of green moss. It stands vertically in the frame, dominating the foreground. The background is a softly blurred forest scene, with other trees visible through a light mist or fog, suggesting a damp environment. I hiked up Monte Castello di Gaino and all I got was this lousy view 😋
