How can we make this Moose faster?

(I make no apologies for the ChatGPT images in my recent blog posts, by the way. No artists are missing out on being paid: I wasn’t going to hire an artist to illustrate these blog posts which will be read by like three people.)

A while back, I wrote MooseX::XSAccessor which you can add to Moose classes to inspect your attributes and try to replace the accessors with faster XS-based ones. Now […]

@biodiversitypix From the painting by George Stubbs. This moose was brought to London in 1770, and the painting commissioned by the anatomist William Hunter. He kept the painting, which is now in the Hunterian Collections at the University of Glasgow, along with interesting archives relating to its origins.

A Shared Lunch, continued!

Fieldwork yields so much more than data, as Jennifer Temmer shares: “While this is not my current lunch, I wish it were! During my fieldwork in Kakisa, a community member gifted me some moose meat so I made homemade tortillas for moose meat tacos with salsa made with tomatoes from the community garden. We all agreed they were delicious!”

What do community gardens mean to Kakisa community members? What resources do they have at their disposal and what strategies are needed to maintain them long term? Read and find out more from Temmer et al.: doi.org/10.15353/cfs-rcea.v12i

Heutiger Spaziergang führte an einem alten Baumstumpf vorbei, der schon zur Hälfte mit Zypressen-Schlafmoos (Hypnum cupressiforme) zugewachsen ist.

This was drawn for Krita-artists' December challenge and I doubted it belonged there (aka wasna sure my art is worth posting, impostor syndrome n all that, hating my brain sometimes) but was told it totally belongs so I dared. Wanna show here too.
I love moose. I attempted to picture this beautiful animal and the movements of the light - distortion, shades, flickering, all that stuff. Aurora was a nice thing to use for this experiment. Tbh wanna do more such pieces - about optical and atmospheric and light effects and movement.

#art #digitalart #krita #mastoart #moose #aurora

A shadowy silhouette of a moose is running through a snow wasteland. Aurora shines behind and huge fluffy snowflakes surround him. The colourful lights of aurora are slightly distorted and the whole picture is in generally an experiment of how to convey the light and its movement.
