An almost monochrome picture of Morecambe Bay. The hills of the Lake District are a dark line on the horizon, the snow-covered tops merging with the cloudy sky. It's high tide, the sea is a thin line of grey behind an expanse of iron-grey mud. A dark peninsula juts out into the mud. The sea front at Morecambe looking over the bay to the snow-covered hills of the Lake District. The landscape is almost monochrome. In the far distance the snowy hills merge into a cloudy sky. The tide is out, the sea is a distant ribbon of light greys. From the left hand margin a stone jetty sticks out into the mud. In front of that is a groyne made up of dark, snow-spattered boulders. There is a similar line of boulders in the foreground. It looks as cold as it was.
