ok ive to go now but the plan once i return ~2 hrs later is to dig thru my pendrives and use 1 to backup my current bios settings, use another to load up the latest stable bios version, take pics of my current bios settings, upgrade to the latest bios version, and then lastly to re-configure bios as close as possible to my current settings.

fingers crossed, my #Proxmox node would still be fine and hopefully, the ReBAR option would show up on my BIOS, cos rn on BIOS v4.6 (2020), it's not (even with CSM disabled, above 4G decoding enabled). My server hardware: #AMD Ryzen 7 1700, #ASRock B450M Pro4 #motherboard, and #Intel #ArcA380 #GPU.

J'ai acheté chez un distrib et reçu une carte mère qui ne fonctionne pas (bios en boucle au démarrage), donc retour pour remboursement. Ma question: le carton Asus (complet) n'était pas scellé, aucun patch adhésif, de même que l'enveloppe de protection antistatique, est-ce nomal ou m'a ton refourgué une carte déjà retournée?

For the better part of a month now I’ve been waffling on whether to purchase a #Gigabyte x870 Aorus Elite or #MSI x870 Tomahawk #motherboard. Both are at the top of my budget and offer really compelling design choices. For me the priorities are a PCIe 5.0 slot, at least two M.2 (CPU) slots, and USB4.

The Gigabyte x870 features a nice neutral design that compliments the rest of my build. The compromise is the ability to have up to three 5.0 x4 M.2 slots, but at the expense of half the lanes going to the first PCIe slot (x16 down to x8). Shouldn’t be a problem now but idk about the future.

The MSI x870 features an…interesting design with green accents that I’m kind of torn about. The compromise here is halving the number of lanes going to the second M.2 slot (x4 down to x2) to power both USB4 ports. Oof.

The case for the MSI board is stronger when you consider the higher quality audio chip, broader WIFI7 frequency, gold antenna threads, better power efficiency, lower chipset temps, and passes DDR5-8000 EXO validation. The new bios looks like a pleasure to use. Just all around a solid mobo.

The case for the Gigabyte board is the fact you will always have USB4 and if you’re fine with halving your GPU lanes to get three M.2 slots connected straight to your CPU, you’re working with a fantastic board. No compromises. The Gigabyte bios is a bit older but still good.

Помогите подобрать материнскую плату для Ryzen 5 7600X. Насколько варианты B850 лучше B650? Есть ли в этом смысл?

Например, ASRock B650 с 60-амперными VRM – не будет ли она греться при длительных full-нагрузках на процессор? Или всё-таки стоит смотреть в сторону ASUS? В целом рассматриваю любые материнские платы, но хотелось бы понять, на что обратить внимание при выборе.

Why do many #motherboard manufacturers like #gigabyte keep putting #NVMe M.2 slots just below the PCIe 16x slot where the GPU goes so the M.2 is right below a hot spot? And I really don't want to have to remove the GPU either just to replace NVMe disk. Especially an issue for micro-ATX boards of course, but hey all manufacturers have these bullshit product advertising facts like number of pcb layers and so on, well add another then and move the M.2 slots.

Really digging the efficient minimalism that is evident in only 2 years of ASUS improvements. This is the cover of the Quick Start Guide (the only manual included) and, okay, aside from a dumb amount of trees used for trailing disclaimers, legal jargon, and warning you against eating the lithium button battery... aside from that stuff that nobody EVER reads (that they're probably legally obliged to have there), this page is the only diagram you have of the board as a whole and where to put things. There are a couple of more specific guides for how to attach the more complicated plugs, sockets, and peripherals inside, but no more than 6 pages TOTAL. It's mostly clear IKEA-level diagrams and as little text as possible. The last build had CHAPTERS of pages for this stuff. They've really cut the fat, and I heartily applaud them for it. So clean!
