Back home after a couple of days in the South Sound for my parent's internment. (Their 'cremains' have been with one of my sisters until yesterday.) Due to my father's military service they were both interned at Tahoma National Cemetery, with full honors and a 21 gun salute.

The service was provided by the cemetery and the local VFW and was both respectful and brief. (They had everything on rails because they do 10 internments in a day.)

In other news of the day, I had the front and back door open for a few hours to let a pleasant breeze through.
A week and a half ago, it was snowing.

I cleaned a house out on the coast today! And I'd had one cold spot in my lungs that wasn't clearing up but being in the briney ocean air fixed it!
In other news of the day, the house is in a cloud again. It was all clear on the drive back and then about 2 blocks before I got home, bam! A cloud on the mountain top, and a freezing cold one at that! 🥶

So strange that last week it was in the high 80's here and today it barely cracked 60. I don't think I ever really appreciated the moderating influence of the ocean on temperature until I moved away from it.

It will never not be trippy to me thinking Oh, look! It's foggy in the valley! Then driving down the mountain, through the fog, then under the fog then realizing oh, it isn't foggy, it's cloudy.

Got a phone message from one of my nice neighbors letting me know if my dogs get out to give her a call before I go looking for them because I don't know the area yet and she wants to be sure I'm safe.
...just how many bear and mountain lions ARE there around here anyway???

It snowed all over the place in BC last night, not right here at my place but possible later this week. Lessons learned: keep those fragile seedlings double covered. Keep those chicks warm. Keep those snow tires on the vehicles. Take nothing for granted. While this is not that unusual for BC, our weather patterns ARE changing.
