Today (10Jun25) in #FFXIV, we resumed the progression of the post-#ARR lvl. 50 #MSQ quest line. We defeated the #Moogle King with some sick #dance moves. Had some more unpleasant encounters with the #Ascians and moved the family to Mor Dhona. The #loot gods were good to me today and gifted me two new #mounts!

#util-#linux just merged support for the new #mount-#api.

In addition to direct support for #idmapped #mounts via -o X-mount.idmap= it brings a lot of other nice features.

The highlight for me is support for the mount_setattr() system call which I added in 2019 or 2020 (not sure right now).

This means the kernel can now atomically clear and set all mount attributes recursively. Clearing and setting mount attributes is also idempotent with mount_setattr().

#util-#linux just merged support for the new #mount-#api.

This includes my original patches for the new mount api and direct support for creating #idmapped #mounts natively:

mount --bind -o X-mount.idmap=u:1000:0:1 g:1001:1:2 5000:1000:2 /source /target

specifying an idmapping directly or via

mount --bind -o X-mount.idmap=/proc/<pid>/ns/user /source /target

to delegate it to a userns.
