Ich weiß gar nicht, ob für‘s einzelne Kino am Ende wirklich so viel übrig bleibt bei so‘ner Flatrate. #Moviepass ist in den USA im ersten Anlauf ja ziemlich spektakulär gescheitert. Aber so entdecken die Kinogänger vielleicht ein neues Lieblingskino, in das sie sich sonst nie verirrt hätten.
#Moviepass is trying to come back from the dead. I got a promo code: one month for $1. That might sound good, but they're still not ready for prime time.
You can only buy tickets day of show. You do so with "credits," which are limited. Those restrictions might be fine, if the app worked. It does not.
I chose a weekday before noon ticket online for 18 credits. It charged me 23 credits. Either would have used enough of my 34 credits that I could not see another movie this month.
The app then told me to use a credit card number it issued for me to pay, but without giving me a zip code. When I did manage to guess the zip (it was the theater's zip, not mine), it was still rejected, because I was not physically at the theater.
It said I had two hours to use the card. Given that a) I had chosen "buy online" and b) the theater doesn't open for 4 hours, this is a double fail.
I'm not even going to attempt it again. The frustration to cost saved ratio isn't worth it.
