Three consortia’s concept proposals for the -Singapore () are believed to have been shortlisted for the multibillion-ringgit mega infrastructure project

According to sources privy to the matter, the three consortia are:
- YTL Construction—SIPP Rail
- Malaysian Resources Corp—IJM Construction—Berjaya Rail—Keretapi Tanah Melayu
- a Chinese consortium said to be led by state-owned China Railway Construction

The Transport Ministry will evaluate the concept proposals of the - Singapore () project with a focus on minimising the financial implications for the government

The Ministry had received Corporation Sdn Bhd’s preliminary report on the project, but the assessment has yet to be finalised

The seven consortia comprises 31 firms, although did not name the companies

However, MyHSR hinted that it may not proceed to the next stage if there is no green light from the Cabinet

The project has been approved in principle, but the government will only kick start the project if the cost is lowered substantially

However, due to fiscal constraints, the government wants to explore to see if the route () is the way to go.

Singapore is willing to discuss any new proposals for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore from Malaysia in good faith, starting from a clean slate.

The Parliament was clarified that Singapore is not involved in the exercise launched by Corp, the Malaysian state-owned entity responsible for the project.
