I don't know why the English translation of the title is My Own Swordman, I think it's because I've never read any English translations of wuxia.

Because there are literally no sword users in the entire cast.

Other than Utopia (Aus) and Getting On (UK), I'd say My Own Swordman is solidly one of my favourite live action TV shows of all time. I can't really describe the first two as deconstruction, but they all are difficult to recommended because there are quite a bit of background interest needed to find those shows clever.

I fell hard in love with wuxia at 12, then then fell hard out of love with wuxia at around 13. I still think too many of the classic wuxia are of miserable nationalist allo cis men with GaryStu problem. I can only really like it if the characters behaving in such ways had their halo taken away.
