One month after Donald Trump issued an executive order claiming the Smithsonian's museums are promoting "improper ideology," artifacts and exhibits from the National Museum of African American History and Culture are reportedly being removed. bit.ly/3XeY8Ge

On March 27, Trump signed an executive order declaring the Smithsonian Museum’s National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. — a.k.a. The Blacksonian — and a few others as institutions that divide America.

The order states that the museums undermine the nation’s "remarkable" history by casting it "in a negative light," and directs Vice President JD Vance to clear the museum of its liberal "ideology."

Ten days before the order, Kevin Young, the NMAAHC’s director, went on indefinite personal leave. The cascade of bad news left historians on edge and Black Americans concerned that the groundbreaking museum would survive Trump 2.0.

An original release from 1976 by the all black punk band from Detroit called Death.ALTERNATIVE SOUNDS Punk rock sprouted across the United States in the 1970s and 1980s. Though black faces in the audiences were often few and far between, African Americans played an important role in the creation of punk rock. Death from Detroit is often cited as the first band in the punk genre. Pure Hell stunned audiences with their brazen look and sound, and Bad Brains were fixtures of the D.C. hardcore punk scene. These bands undermined easy generalizations about both rock musicians and rock music.

Still waiting on the right time to do my pictorial walk through the National Museum of African American History and Culture. I was looking at the pics and it's definitely not Black joy so I held off for the #BlackFriday days.

There is some Black joy but you start off in the elevator going down with markings showing you going back in time to slavery. About time you make your way up, you need to decompress from what all you experienced.
