This question depends on how high-level a view you take. As a low level of course not, it is set in Japan with Japanese characters, Japanese mythology, and supernatural creatures. So at that level no.
At a higher level, as I have said before, the basic story requires girls falling in love and another shadow world where fabulous creatures exist.

Another binary question. Well, I'm a nonbinary writer.
I plan my character's significant character. Sketch in important detail and some character flavor material. The most Important ones I write short fiction with them to get a feel for them. But once I let them loose, they develop on their own. There is always something new to learn about them.

I appear in two fan-produced anthologies. The theme Inori.Sensei and Rae Taylor (Who share a birthday)
The first was of Rae as a dog owned by her love interest. It was translated into Japanese and Korean. The korean version appeared in the anthology.
The second was a story where the author meets her character Rae Taylor and promise to take care of her.

I was incorrect. I have written stories with indigent characters. I generally don't because I write stories from inside the character's mind, and I have worked with indigent clients enough to know that I can't do justice to how they see the world. Most of what I have read by people without that experience doesn't capture that experience.
This is an adaptation of several JP creepypasta. It got me in trouble with some members of the Non Non Biyori fan community. It is NOT a comfy story.

I mix it up. But never an indigent character. But I had a NEET, but they have a job now.

Takiyasha-tenno: A 1000-year-old empress assumes someone lower on the pecking order would do such things. She only executes those who fail to perform their duties unseen and silently.

No, having a bi-cultural POV offers enough scope, but I do vary and mix existing ones to make them accessible to my English readers. I make up many metaphors. Ume likes metaphors, and entering into the 10th-century court puts my characters into a metaphor-rich environment.

I am familiar with all there except Cursed and Dissociative fugue. #ActuallyAutistic
Forgot Ghost Sick: Shiomi, Ume, Saeki Sayaka, Tomo They all recovered.
Note: I do have characters without mental health issues. Forget it, they probably ALL have PTSD.

Neither of my chief antags thinks in those kinds of terms. This is too human for Mikawa and for Takiyasha-tenno, having existed over a 1,000 years, there is little new for her to experience.
