Stealth AnnoucE Lineup Change

Stealth has announced a new line‑up following the exit of Rich Raschal, the band’s founder and guitarist, and L.C. Hammer, the band’s bassist. The band has stated that the project will continue, and extends its sincere wishes to both departing members.

The new Stealth line‑up is confirmed as:

  • Ryan Heavy — Drums and Vocals (original member since 2019)
  • Beast / Bestial — Guitar and Choirs
  • I.K. Bulldozer — Bass Guitar and Vocals

According to the band, this new formation is prepared to move forward with upcoming activities and performances.

Stealth are a heavy and speed metal trio from Verona, Italy, formed in 2019 and devoted to carrying the spirit of classic metal with a raw, punk‑tinged edge. Their sound is driven by hard‑hitting guitar work, relentless rhythms and vocals that strike with unfiltered aggression. It nods to the roots of the genre while remaining unmistakably their own. Their lyrics draw on war, conflict and real‑world struggle, giving their music both emotional weight and a fierce sense of purpose.

Their early demos, Rehearsal Tape and F.S.T., established their gritty identity and set the stage for their 2025 full‑length debut, Metal Force, released through underground powerhouse Witches Brew.

If you are drawn to the DIY attitude of punk or the iron strength of traditional metal, Stealth deliver music that is fast, raw and built to ignite a sweat‑soaked crowd.

Blacklyst’s Liars, Killers & Master Thieves Set for First Vinyl and Expanded CD Edition

Lost Realm Records announces the first-ever vinyl and expanded CD release of Blacklyst’s classic album Liars, Killers & Master Thieves, arriving worldwide on the 1st of May 2026.

Lost Realm Records is proud to confirm the forthcoming reissue of Liars, Killers & Master Thieves, the full-length album by Chicago heavy metal stalwarts Blacklyst. Scheduled for release in early 2026, this edition marks a significant milestone for a band whose roots lie deep within the uncompromising spirit of the 1980s underground metal movement.

Blacklyst formed in 1987 during a period of remarkable creativity for heavy metal. Emerging from a city already rich with established acts and new contenders, the band quickly carved out their own identity. Their sound blended the character of traditional heavy metal with the power and intensity of American steel, driven by galloping guitar work, commanding vocals and a rhythm section built for maximum impact. Their lyrics explored betrayal, social decay and the enduring resilience of metal culture, themes that continue to resonate with dedicated fans across generations.

Originally issued exclusively on cassette in 1991, Liars, Killers & Master Thieves captures the band at full force. Tracks such as Armageddon, Sick Society and Metal Knight showcase their commitment to authentic heavy metal, complete with analogue warmth, razor-sharp riffs and soaring solos. The album stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of the genre’s golden age.

For the first time, the album will be available on vinyl in a deluxe limited edition. A CD version will also be released, featuring an expanded booklet and an official band biography, making this reissue an essential addition for collectors and fans of American heavy metal.

Release date: the 1st of May 2026

Toxikull Unleash “Midnight Fire” Ahead Of New Album Turbulence

The Nwothm

2–3 minutes

Dying Victims Productions will release the fourth Toxikull album, Turbulence, on CD and vinyl LP formats on the 24th of April internationally. To mark the occasion, the band present the new single Midnight Fire, now available for streaming.

https://youtu.be/ziEFLShWXyU

Since forming in 2016, Portugal’s Toxikull have become one of the most driven and uncompromising forces in European heavy metal. Their sound merges the high‑energy pulse of traditional heavy metal with the velocity of speed metal, all delivered with a sharp, modern edge that has defined their rise.

The band’s reputation has been forged through commanding live performances and a steadfast commitment to their craft. Their 2019 album Cursed and Punished and 2024’s acclaimed Under the Southern Light strengthened their standing, while the 2025 live album Echoes of the Arena captured their onstage power and entered the Portuguese Top 100 music charts.

Turbulence marks a new chapter for the quartet. The album reflects a heightened sense of songwriting maturity, uniting the raw force of speed metal with the melodic sweep of classic heavy metal. Across ten tracks and thirty nine minutes, it explores themes of resilience, inner conflict and the enduring spirit of the metal faithful. From the opening surge of Midnight Fire to its towering choruses, Turbulence showcases a band pushing forward with confidence and ambition.

Produced by Jamie Gomez Arellano, known for his work with Ghost, Mayhem, Opeth, Behemoth, Angel Witch and Moonspell, the album delivers a sharp, powerful sound that complements the band’s most focused performance to date. The result is a rallying cry for heavy metal devotees across the world.

For listeners discovering Toxikull after Under the Southern Light, the band proudly carry the lineage of Judas Priest, WASP, Accept and Manowar, while bringing a distinctly southern European character to their music. Speaking on the album, the band state:

“We raise our chalices to all the Toxikheads, the believers, the dreamers and those who keep the eternal flame of heavy metal burning. This record is dedicated to you. Your passion fuels our engine and makes this journey possible. Turbulence stands as a testament to our path, proof that every scar can become art and every struggle can become strength. These songs reflect the lessons learned and the people who inspired the themes of this album.”

Turbulence will be released on the 24th of April through Dying Victims Productions.

Exclusive Interview With Jason McMaster Of WatchTower

Mark Pruett 2–3 minutes

Jason McMaster. This is a complete sentence. It causes the earth to tremble and amps to spontaneously combust at 11. That’s right… Pastor McMaster of the Church of Disaster is here to drop a sermon like none other.

In late 2024, Ignitor (with McMaster at the helm) unleashed “Horns and Hammers”, a NWOTHM triumph forged in fire and sharpened on the anvil of everything that makes this movement roar. It’s a record that hits like a war cry from a new generation, but for McMaster, it’s merely the latest spark from a furnace that’s been burning white‑hot for decades.

https://youtu.be/HO_9eM5VPwo

Frontman? Vocalist? Living Legend?

Sure, but let’s face facts. He’s a force of nature, a walking archive of riffs, a high‑octane prophet of the loud and the unholy. Now, he is fully ascended… he has been anointed as the High Priest of the Church of Disaster, presiding over a congregation of distortion, sweat, and glorious chaos. Throw the horns in the air for Papa McMaster!

His legacy is a labyrinth of bands that reshaped the landscape of heavy music. Watch Tower rewrote the rules of progressive metal before most bands even knew there were rules. Dangerous Toys swaggered onto the scene and set MTV ablaze. Broken Teeth, Gahdzilla Motor Company, Evil United, SA Slayer, Hot Shot, Night Terror, Sad Wings… the list reads like a roll call of every subgenre worth raising a fist for. Each project still alive, still snarling, still orbiting him like planets around a star that refuses to burn out.

And because the man apparently exists outside the laws of mortal biology, he also co‑hosts Talk Louder, one of the most essential metal podcasts on Earth. Insight, humor, history, and pure rock‑and‑roll storytelling. He and “Metal Dave” Glessner deliver it all with the ease of two legends who have lived ten lifetimes in the trenches.

But even with all that, this interview holds something deeper. Something sacred.

A revelation that feels like a relic from the vaults of Metal Valhalla itself.

Years ago, a rock legend (an icon whose name carries weight in every corner of the metal world) penned lyrics specifically for Jason McMaster. Handwritten. Personal. Unrecorded. They’ve hung on his wall like a secret prophecy waiting for the right moment. Who wrote them? And will Jason ever bring those words to life in the studio? That’s the mystery at the heart of this conversation.

So, step inside. The torches are lit. The pulpit is shaking.

Papa McMaster is preaching, and the sermon is molten.

Don’t miss this wildly beautiful, thunderously human conversation with a man who has earned his place in Metal Valhalla a dozen times over. He shows no signs of slowing down and that’s a damn good thing.

Review: Aggressive Perfector- “Come Creeping Fiends”

Release date: March 27, 2026

Label: Dying Victims Productions

4–7 minutes

Diana N.

AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR is a speed/thrash heavy metal band storming all the way from Manchester, England. The band has a brutal mix of thrash, speed and even a twinge of blackened tones all throughout their music, ranging from themes that dip into the occult, war, death and horror. And undoubtedly so, as their name is inspired from one of the thrash legends Slayer’s track, “Aggressive Perfector”. The band were formed in 2014, and have been active ever since. With their first release being their 2016 demo “Satan’s Heavy Metal”, followed by their full length album, “Havoc At The Midnight Hour” in 2019. Aggressive Perfector is set to release a new album after 7 years, a full length album under the title of “Come Creeping Fiends“!

Review

Dead Undead is actually a track you can now listen to, as it has been already released as a single just a little over a month ago! Dead Undead is a quick tempo, sleazy, raw and electrifying track. I actually dig the traditional heavy metal backbone that the song has, as well as easily incorporating the “Blackened” tones to give it that dark twist all while maintaining that awesome balance of the melodics that you hear in traditional heavy metal. Already a great album starter!

Strange Companion follows right up, it begins just as raw and “on your face” sort of way, it maintains that edginess and roughness just as the previous track. It has a mid-tempo, but also dances around upbeat moments while keeping that darkness infused. It’s awesome, it’s evil sounding, and again, I love the melodies that are created along with the darker tones. I personally do enjoy that blend that is being mixed up in the tracks so far!

Fiend in You has also just been released recently as a single just yesterday (At the time this is being written), its already fun, as if it were the evil twin of rock and roll itself. I can also hear the Motorhead tones in this track, its upbeat, fast, and straight up sleazy with a dangerous twist. Dan Chainsaw’s aggressive (no pun intended) vocals are a huge element in the track and even the whole album as it contributes to that raw energy in the song and the album so far! Kick ass track all around.

Like a Beast starts off with a build up, slowly but quickly snatching you up with the claw of aggression and power. The song certainly dives into horror elements, with the lyrical themes and even the musical aspect of the song makes you feel as you are being chased by this Beast. It is very frantic, as if you have to look around your surroundings for any danger ahead…or behind you. This track is really cool, and personally I just loved the horror theme in this song specifically so far!

Obscene Cult begins with a musical ode to Composer Choplin’s “Funeral March” which I thought was an awesome and fun snippet to add into the song, as the song also is heavily into deathly themes.

https://youtu.be/z2gGG0z7y0Y?si=ZJvcvPUvZ5_Jl8FP

Denied by The Reaper starts off with a bang, instantly firing off along with the aggressive vocals by Dan Chainsaw; that continue to be a huge contributing factor to the rawness and dangerous atmosphere in the track just as the album as a whole too. This song has a bit of a more upbeat feel similarly to most of the previous tracks covered, it has that quick and frantic urgent feeling and vibe through the whole song. The swift soloing, and the attack of the drumming in this track makes it all for another real cool track in the album!

Harlot’s Spell also starts off with a punching bassline, and within a couple of seconds in, the song changes tempo to another melodic and even lively mood. This track sounds a little more melodic compared to most of the tracks so far, it seems to play more with the sound elements of traditional metal. I would say that personally this one is one of my favorites so far in the album as well. The sound and melodies of the guitars were my favorite feature, and the melodic side mixed with more speedy moments were also part of the aspect that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Return of The Axe begins with sirens, an indicator of the return of the axe…or actually the maniac running amok with the axe! The lyrical themes also dive into horror themes, and also of course mixes in the satanic vibes into the overall theme. It is a dark tune, but honestly I also found that this one was one of my favorites too! The guitar riffs and licks brought by Dan Chainsaw himself, is one of my favorite riffs probably out of the whole album. The instrumentation, tempos, lyrics, guitar, bass and drumming all create this gritty, evil, ghastly and macabre track. Absolutely a phenomenal song.

Gallows Eve wraps up the album with a short number, a closing instrumental piece from the trio that perfectly and melodically captures that feeling you get from the “calm after the storm”. It has a different sound, still holding up with that grittiness and murkiness. The riffs, bass, and percussion create this gloomy and mysterious atmosphere, almost as if leaving the listener to wonder what else is being conjured up next?

Conclusion

“Come Creeping Fiends” is definitely a wild ride. The trio have already previously released great music with their demo and the album “Havoc At The Midnight Hour”, and with their new release, I can say that they are absolutely continuing with that electrifying momentum that they are building up. “Come Creeping Fiends” has a unique blend and mix of traditional metal, speed, thrash and I would even say blackened aspects too. Personally I enjoyed a handful of the tracks, but after listening to the whole entire album, I would say that “Return of The Axe” is for sure my absolute favorite track. The entire album itself has insane energy all around, a powerhouse of evil chaos. The band has done a phenomenal job with this album, the darkness and aggression (ha!) the guys bring through their musical talents shall not go unnoticed!

Serpent Gates Announce Debut Album “The Veil of Darkness,” Arriving the 20th of February

Serpent Gates, the striking new force championing traditional heavy metal, are preparing to unveil their first full‑length album, “The Veil of Darkness,” on the 20th of February. The Finnish outfit have long envisioned bringing their brand of classic metal to life, and in recent years their dedication, persistence and shared musical vision have finally aligned to make that ambition a reality.

The band’s core creative partnership consists of drummer Juho Hakalax and guitarist Tuomas Västilä, with the album also featuring a powerful vocal performance from Antony Parviainen of Psychework, who appears as a session singer.

Speaking about the album’s third and final single, which shares its title with the record, composer Juho Hakalax explains:

“Our upcoming debut album isn’t exactly laid-back, as slow songs don’t really come easily to this composer. However, the title track of this album has a slightly more dynamic feel, and the atmosphere has been deepened with synths and clear sounding guitars, among other things. The vocals follow the winding tones of the song and raise its energy to new heights as the chorus crashes down from above, loud and clear.”

The new single is available now across major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal and Amazon Music:
https://push.fm/fl/serpentgates-tvod-single

Lyricist Jegori Miinin adds further insight into the song’s thematic weight:

“The song has the darkest lyrics on the album, which were also the first ones written. At this time, inspiration was not hard to find, as opening any media device was enough to be hit by the stench of humanity. Homo homini lupus, as stated in an ancient Roman play.”

TAILGUNNER Unveil New Single “War In Heaven” Featuring Grammy Winner Adam Wakeman New Album Midnight Blitz out now!

The Nwothm 3–5 minutes

British heavy metal torchbearers Tailgunner have unveiled their new single “War In Heaven”, accompanied by an official music video available to watch now. The track arrives alongside the release of their brand‑new album Midnight Blitz, produced by metal legend K.K. Downing and out today through Napalm Records.

K.K. Downing praised the band, stating: “TAILGUNNER personify everything that is heavy metal.”

“War In Heaven” showcases a different side of the band, delivering a powerful, emotive ballad enriched by a guest appearance from Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple), who recently won a Grammy for Best Rock Performance. Wakeman’s synth work adds a sweeping, atmospheric depth that blends classic 80s metal influences with the band’s modern edge.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=np25HG13BCg

TAILGUNNER said of the single: “When the legendary K.K. Downing challenges you to write a ballad, you don’t let him down. Make no mistake, this one hits hard. We went all out and enlisted the help of Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple) on synths to make ‘War In Heaven’ an all‑time classic, just like those iconic 80s ballads from the bands we all love. Walking in the footsteps of giants, no ballad is complete without a blistering, iconic guitar solo, ready for the history books and ‘War In Heaven’ is no exception.”

AILGUNNER’s second album, Midnight Blitz, marks a bold step forward for the fast‑rising British outfit. Drawing deeply from the roots of classic British heavy metal while pushing their sound into new territory, the band remain committed to their founding ethos of pure, uncompromising heavy metal. Their rapid ascent has already earned the admiration of their heroes, with K.K. Downing stepping in to produce the new record after the band supported KK’s Priest on tour.

TAILGUNNER said of the album: “Like phantoms of the clouds, the Midnight Blitz screams silently through the air. Descending on their prey, a Heavy Metal militia striking at the speed of sound. Only blood can run. Whilst touring our debut album, we were described by one roadie as ‘The bastard child of Maiden & Priest’ and that became the ethos for our new album Midnight Blitz. Just like our forebearers, we are determined to push forward, always crafting our sound and building on what we have, whilst never compromising on what we started with – Pure Heavy Metal. We are not just worshipping at the altar of those who have gone before, but determined to stand upon it and be the heroes for a whole new generation. We played over 100 shows touring our debut album, sharing the stages with some of the most legendary names in Metal while paying our dues in blood, sweat, tears and endless nights out on the road. Everything we learned is on display here, packed into 10 tracks in what we feel can be a true, essential TAILGUNNER album. Produced by none other than the Metal guitar God K.K. Downing, working closely with K.K. during this entire process has been the ride of a lifetime and you can hear those touches of a bonafide Metal God throughout this album.”

K.K. Downing added: “TAILGUNNER is a band we should have seen emerge years ago from the UK. They personify everything that is heavy metal. They are loud and proud, and totally descended from everyone in metal that has gone before – their energy and rawness, together with their brand of metal, incorporates all of the godfathers and much more. Maiden, Priest, Motörhead, Def Leppard – the list is endless. The band has a youthful freshness and a uniqueness that will no doubt elevate them to being a true Metal favourite of the fans.”

Review: Tailgunner- Midnight Blitz

Release date: 2/6/26

Label: Napalm Records

Greg D.

The NWOTHM. The New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal. Not just the name of a website, but a musical movement, obviously. When did this movement begin? That answer is in the eye of the beholder, however, there was a moment for me that precipitated it coming back as such a force that it ultimately warranted a familiar acronym to describe it. That moment is Enforcer’s 2008 album, “Into The Night”. It just seemed like it set something off, and suddenly more & more bands of that ilk had a presence that elicited greater awareness. That was eighteen years ago.

2026. February 6th. Eighteen years after the NWOTHM, arguably, kicked off, the movement may finally have an album, and a band, destined for larger pastures. Tailgunner, England formed in 2022, have kicked up quite a storm in an alarmingly short period of time. Debuting with the EP “Crashdive”, (oddly enough, produced by Olaf Wikstrom of Enforcer) also in 2022, and following it with their first full length “Guns For Hire” in 2023. Admittedly, “Guns For Hire” didn’t garner much of a look from me. Is it good? Yes. Did it hold my attention? Not really. Enter their newest album, “Midnight Blitz”.

First of all, the promotion for this album has been unavoidable. Music/lyric videos, tours, Metallica tribute albums. They’ve been everywhere. Getting a seal of approval from a bonafide heavy metal legend (album producer, K.K. Downing) is sure to get a few extra looks their way as well. With all that in mind, and with eyes and ears open and pointed at Tailgunner, they have stepped up to the plate with an album that is, simply put, arena ready. Anyone coming here expecting blatant Judas Priest, or Iron Maiden, worship, will leave either surprised or disappointed. This album probably has more in common with Euro Power Metal than classic British heavy metal, but they definitely have more muscle than your average Euro Power Metal band.

Like ginormous choruses? If you do, you’ll be pleased to know that Tailgunner does as well. Every song has sing-a-long qualities to it, which are no doubt great in a live setting. Singer Craig Cairns’ tone is PERFECT for this kind of metal. Good range without getting screetchy, and delivered powerfully. “Tears In Rain”, & the title track, surge with all the glory and anthemic splendor that you’d want from steamrolling heavy metal. Dig burning guitars? The guitar work throughout the record is all right on the money. Check out “Barren Lands And Seas Of Red”, it swings a little riffier to let axefolk Rhea Thompson & Zach Savini stretch their legs more aggressively. Now, it’s one thing to be able to blast forth and kill, but the song “War In Heaven” is where Tailgunner really backs up their bark and shows they’re not fucking around. Subduded, Savatage level dramatic, & epic, this song should probably be the next single as it reveals the band’s ability to downshift seemlessly.

“Eulogy”. This song is a helluva way to end an album. Storming, speedy, and y’know how we were talking about choruses earlier? This is the biggest and best one yet. The kind of thing that says, “stick around for the next album”. A great piece of post production in the sequencing putting it last, very well done. It’s hard to find any fault with this record. If I was going to imagine this kind of metal album, this is exactly what it would be. The band has delivered, & it’s hard to ask for more than that, innit?

Conclusion

Now, I don’t know how this works with other styles of music, but in hard rock/heavy metal there seems to be a time honored tradition of baton passing. I have a tendency to say: “If you want to know what the future is going to sound like, pay attention to who’s riding in on the backs of the present.” Van Halen with Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden with Kiss, Metallica with Ozzy Osbourne, and a handful of others, are all examples of this. Now, with this second album from Tailgunner, I don’t know that the saying I mentioned applies to them in the same way it did for Van Halen, Iron Maiden, or Metallica. Tailgunner is not shaking things up, or taking the sound into another dimension. They’re simply reinforcing things that are already great. However, that aforementioned saying might apply to Tailgunner in a much simpler, and direct way.

People generally seem to want their own heroes, they don’t always want the heroes of their older siblings, parents, etc. While Tailgunner are legend approved, they have a long way to go to become legends themselves, and it’s looking like they have a lot of things lining up for them. They are young, they are talented, they appear committed, & it sure seems like they have strong backing on the business end of things. All of those things are VERY important. That said, the most important thing is if this album sucked, none of that would matter. This album does not suck. Get into it.

TheNwothm Score: 10/10
