Lick My Heat Pump (in D minor)
This week I had my furnace and air conditioner replaced with a hybrid heat pump system from Bosch. [My hopes from this summer](https://jorts.horse/@fathermcgruder/114751891498268656) were dashed when it became apparent that the old system had a leak that was not worth repairing. I'm happy with it so far. Going with a dual-fuel/hybrid system seems to have been a good choice. Natural gas is very inexpensive compared to electricity for now, so it just doesn't pay to run in heat pump mode. Maybe one day we'll organize a Butlerian Jihad and destroy the data centers that have been driving up electricity prices.
One thing I'm not sure about is the thermostat wiring. The diagrams in the Bosch manual show both the Y1 and Y2 terminals connected as well as the W1 and W2 terminals, so I'm not sure why the contractor only connected Y1 and W2 among those pairs. I put the question to them in an email, but I haven't heard back yet.
