In 2024, we published a review (https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fnmol.2024.1386735) on miRNAs in #neurodegenerative diseases (including #Parkinson's Disease, #Alzheimer's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, #Huntington's Disease, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). The goal was to collect miRNAs which have statistically significant regulations, based on data from reviewed publications.

With the data, we aim to identify patterns that could aid in detecting these diseases. This is part of our #NeuroMir project (2022–2025).

Researchers at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard have developed a gene-editing treatment for #prion disease that extends lifespan by about 50 percent in a mouse model of the fatal #neurodegenerative condition.
