I completely forgot that 'toon Link gets a big cartoon hammer. I'm also glad that taking a pictograph of Tetra unlocks multiple figures in the Nintendo Gallery.
I don't know if alkaline battery chemistry has improved or #Nintendont is more conservative with a Wiimote while a Classic Controller is connected, but I'm getting a crazy amount of playtime. Maybe the accelerometer and IR are turned off?
The problem wasn't #Nintendont it was the lack of documentation. Pressing -/Select on the Wii Classic Controller switches between the two different face button mappings. I must have pressed it without noticing.
Also, I restarted my playthrough of The Wind Waker because I wasted so many rupees by having a full wallet. I remembered I'm going to want as much as possible to pay for decoding charts to the "Triumph Forks." I have only looked up where to find wallet upgrades, so far.
I'm using my Wii running #HomebrewChannel and #Nintendont to revisit GameCube Legend of Zelda games. Having a wider choice of controllers is important. My Wii Classic Controller thumbstick has been better than the last time I tried with my worn-in stock GameCube controller. In Ocarina of Time I earned the 50 arrow quiver faster and only had a few misses with light arrows. I was still bad at shooting Big Poes, but I earned that bottle despite the forced inverted Y-axis aiming.

But then again I don't have a #Gamecube and acquiring one + the #GameboyPlayer incl. necessary disc and modding #HDMI into it is more costly than some other option.

get an SD card or microSD to SD adapter,
softmod the Wii, and
play the $500 GC game ISO using #nintendont... which uses the native GC hardware in the Wii.
Something worth knowing is that using Nintendont to run GameCube games on the Wii allows the Wii to run the GC game in Wii mode.
This allows the GC game to take full advantage of the stronger Wii hardware, resulting in some games running much better if they had slowdown or skipped frames before!

And that's not all--with something called a C2W Patch, you can effectively pass the Wii U's souped up CPU core to Nintendont on Wii U's Wii Mode, giving it an even bigger boost to the CPU, which would be excellent for any potentially still CPU-bound games.
That said, it's only a CPU boost, so it might not necessarily provide as much of a boost to frame rate.
If you use the Nintendont app (for playing GC games with enhancements/other controllers/on a non GameCube compatible Wii) on a Wii or Wii U, you can get significant boosts to the frame rate of certain GameCube games that were previously limited or dropped frames very often on an original GameCube.
Even just the standard Wii adds a significant amount of power due to the improved clock speeds on the CPU and GPU--about a 1.5x CPU and GPU boost.
Using "Wii VC injects" on Wii U with patching to remove the CPU clock capping (c2w patcher I believe), you get the same boost to GPU clock speeds as a Wii/standard Wii Mode, and a 2.5x boost to CPU clock speeds, great for games that were originally CPU limited as well.
