Hard to believe this gorgeous 27" iMac, with a 6 core i5-8500, 16 gigs of ram and a solid state drive was on its way to the dump.

Apparently, it's not "good enough" to run the new MacOS, so it was discarded.

Thankfully, #linux is here to save the day and make this a perfect computer for someone that will last YEARS into the future.

The 'defaultEditor' option now sets both {env}`EDITOR` and {env}`VISUAL` environment variables. Previously, only {env}`EDITOR` was set. The {env}`VISUAL` variable is now also configured to point to the same editor, which is the expected behavior for modern terminal editors. This change affects the following modules: - programs.helix - programs.kakoune - programs.neovim - programs.vim - services.emacs No action is required. This change should improve compatibility with tools that check {env}`VISUAL` before {env}`EDITOR`.

hey, #Nix / #NixOS folks, have any of you ever used global flake registry, i.e. this thing: https://github.com/NixOS/flake-registry/? e.g. you could do nix shell agda and it’ll desugar to github:agda/agda via this list.

if so, could you share your story? did you use it in CLI? in your flake inputs? I need to make some design choices for unflake, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen global flake registry used before
