During the last few days, I noticed a wave of empty Mastodon accounts following me. No profile pictures, 0 toots, 0 followers. Most of them are from #nofan (nofan.xyz).

I wonder what the business model behind all this could possibly be; in any case I'm quite certain it doesn't work.

However I won't block these accounts because maybe one out of 20 is indeed here for the #cats, and it's OK not to provide own content if they don't want to.
