#MashGang is a new (to me) brewer of #NonAlcoholic beers, founded in 2020 and dedicated to crafting NA beers that are “Expertly brewed to strength at 0.5% ABV using natural ingredients” (0.5% being the legal limit to be called non-alcoholic). The company is based in the United Kingdom and contract brews its beers in the U.S. for the American market.

Adventures in N/A Drinking Ep 005: Lapo’s N/A Negroni. Drinking a tall one over ice on the patio. This is the closest NA drink I’ve tried to hitting the satisfying notes of a Negroni, through the bitterness close to a Campari and the slight fizziness of light carbonation providing complexity most NA cocktails lack that teases the tongue like alcohol. Would drink again. Will include in a future side by side with other NA Negronis and a real Negroni.

Adventures in N/A Drinking Ep 004: Sanzo. Excited to find Sanzo in the local market - sparkling water made with real fruit juice with Asian flavors like Yuzu and Calamansi. Also comes in lychee (yum), pomelo, and mango. It’s “sparkling water” but it tastes more like a Spindrift than a La Croix - so more like a fruit soda, but without the calories. No added sweeteners. Adventures in Non-Alcoholic Drinking Ep. 001 (I might start a regular thing, we’ll see) - today, Ritual N/A gin with Fever Tree Cucumber (cucumber with quinine) in a 1:2 ratio stirred and served over ice. Not bad! Crisp, clean, and the quinine makes it taste more like a “real” cocktail. I feel like I will end up with a series like “Ritual N/A gin with…”. Taking a moment to enjoy some sun, we sat down with several releases from the brewery up North, #sobercarpenter. In no particular order, we sampled their limited-edition Black IPA, White, Sour, Blonde, DDH Hazy IPA, Organic Blonde Pilsner , and Cider.
You'll also, no doubt, that some photos feature the iconic logo from the brewery on the glass, while others don't. That's because during the shoot, the glass ended up breaking in our hands, in the sink, while rinsing. Don't worry, we weren't cut.
