Back from a fun weekend of SF #ttrpg games at #NorthStarCon in Sheffield. I ran #TravellerRPG twice, and played #fadingsuns, #ElectricState and #2d20 John Carter of Mars. Proper write up later in the week as I’m ready for a good nap to recover!

It's a science-fiction focused #ttrpg convention which will be held in Sheffield 10/11 May 2025. This is the eighth run of the convention and the sixth physical (it spent two years in a virtuality during the pandemic). We welcome all types of SF RPGS.

The layout (and writing) for the forthcoming #BluePlanet #Recontact #ttrpg is gorgeous. Having run it several times at conventions, I’m looking forward to this being released properly. Also pondering whether to do a third instalment of the convention game series I’ve being running at #NorthStarCon next year.

@FortiterGames I bounced off STA until the Tricorder version, ran Dune but was winging it a bit, but enjoyed running STA at #NorthStarCon. Reading Achtung! Cthulhu at the moment and it’s the clearest statement of the rules that I’ve seen. I’m starting to get it but - a bit like Blades in the Dark - it’s taken some time to grok.

When preparing for #northstarcon, I created a crib sheet for the #2d20 Star Trek Adventures #ttrpg because that’s one of the ways I best learn a system.

#NorthStarCon 2023 was such a blast! SF #ttrpg face to face play. So many great games and welcoming atmosphere. Felt so happy, excited, yet at peace.

@satsuma The nearest thing is #Travcon, but that’s much more focused (but hopefully emerging from COVID induced dormancy next year).

When @eladrin and I first kicked around the idea that became #northstarcon, we started with ‘what if we did a Travcon North’? (The first UK Travcon was near Halifax in Hebden Bridge). However, we felt that a broader #SF #ttrpg approach was a better thing to do.
