#NorthernCorries

A day out back in my old office with Moray. Our old office, because Moray usually came to work with me.

Hot hazy sunshine above an inversion. Lurcher's Crag and the Northern Corries to Cairn Gorm. I used to be up here several times a week, now love just wandering without any particular objectives.

National Park

On a rocky hillside Moray the dog is looking down into a valley several hundred metres below. On a grassy heathery hill, the deer grass is turning a bronze colour, a stream running down a small valley. Moray the dog is looking at the camera. In the hazy distance the cloud is filling the valley, with some hills poking out further away.Moraqy the dog stood on a rock looking over the edge into a wide corrie. The ground is grassy and bouldery. There is a loch in the distance in the haze.Moray the dog stood next to a well built summit cairn. The ground is rocky. Blue sky and haze in the distance.

2. 1981, Ben Alder from Culra.
3. 1977 Coire an Lochain, although Hogmanay itself was at the Shelter Stone.
4. 1978, Lairig Ghru, trying (& failing) to get to Corrour from the Sinclair Hut.

(except )

A group of about 20 people and 2 dogs, in a small room with concrete floor and whitewashed stone walls. Saltire flag bunting and waterproof jackets hanging up. Two people at a cold summit cairn. Snow covered ground and blue sky with clouds.A group of small tents in the snow with some rocks showing through. A few people stood around wrapped up against the cold. Dull day.Black & white pic, two people wrapped up against the cold, one sat one stood, with large rucksacks, looking at the view. Snowy, with crags visible in the mist in the distance.

Another walk with Moray to do a path survey yesterday, this time the path along the Northern Corries rim in the Cairngorms. Ended up going up Cairn Lochan three times, as there was a bit of a maze of paths, so wasn't sure which one was the official one - which is an issue in itself. Then came back out over Lurchers Crag. Much hotter and sunnier then I expected from the forecast.

National Park,

A path through blooming heather, heading towards mountains. Moray the dog just ahead of me looking back. Sunny day. blue sky.Black and white. Looking down onto granite crags.Moray the dog stood on a rock, looking down onto granite crags. More hills in the background.Moray the dog standing among boulders and blooming heather, looking back at me.
