On a twiggy branch with several wiglets, a stonechat perches. It has a round, reddish body and a black-looking head that's separated by a white clerical collar, and brown wings folded by its sides. The camera was very zoomed in to get this close, and the bird still looks a bit like it might fly off at any moment.

The #WednesdayWaterbird is a #BrentGoose - it is #NotADuck and I think it might have lost a contact lens?

A bright white avocet picking its way along the edge of the water in a muddy tidal scrape. It is bent over ready to poke its bill into the mud, its black cap and wing markings contrasting with the rest of its feathers and the grey-brown of the background.

This is the #SaurdaySeagull. It is #NotADuck.

I was actually taking a picture of the fishing boat and didn't even see the #Seagull when taking the photo. I remain bad at gulls, so will say that it is a "gull sp." in the hope someone will think I know what I'm talking about. Could be a herring gull, maybe?
