Optical drive and skins swapped. It works. But I haven't reset the root password yet. Also when IRIX comes up it sets the resolution to something my VGA->HDMI adapter at my desk doesn't wanna deal with, so I need to drag out the VGA monitor I was using before to get all that sorted. Can't wait to see what s/w is on this former gubmint computer.

Dozvěděl jsem se to btw na prodejně O2, když jsem byl můj a mámin Smartbox vrátit a vystál jsem si hezkou frontu.
Tak se teď těším kolik nám naúčtují. 🙈
Pro porovnání:
Dneska jsem byl na T-Mobile vyzvednout si ručník, který je s kódem z appky zdarma a zeptal jsem se, co se stane když bych chtěl používat ty Smartboxy a vrátit jejich modemy (Sercomy😃) za které si účtují 50 Kč/měs.
Bylo mi řečeno, že jde skutečně o pronájem a je možné je kdykoliv vrátit třeba. Tak asi tak.
Tak už jsem u T-Mobile a vše šlape jak má. Vč. nového modemu značky krásného názvu Sercomm. Nicméně jsem O2 naletěl na rozloučenou na krásný špek.
Obchodníkem mi byl při zřízení internetu vnucen O2 Smartbox. Prý jiný modem v tu dobu neměli, což už jsem tehdy tušil, že úplně není pravda. A když jsem za něj platil 99 měsíčně, myslel jsem že jde o pronájem ale ejhle, není tomu tak. Byly to splátky a s příštím vyúčtováním ho budu muset splatit a to si pište že je řádně předražený. 🙈

der "weltbeste" (!sic) kundensupport (kein kunde) von O2 kann damit nichts anfangen und schickt mich zum shop, der shop bestätigt nur die fälschung (falsches blau, qr code pixelbrei, fußleiste falsch und eingefügtes bild), nimmt es aber nicht auf :thisisfine:

Už se těším na pevný internet co nebude od O2. (Přecházím se vším k T-Mobile)
Dneska jsem nahrával 7 GB na Úschovnu, která normálně jede velmi solidně. 4x to spadlo, takže jsem to nahrával reálně skoro 6 hodin.
Teď nahrávám 11 GB na Swisstransfer a do 1,5 hodiny to bylo bez výpadku.

Mein erstes #Mobiltelefon war ein Gerät von #Motorola. Es konnte #Telefonieren und damit hatte es sich. Dazu hatte es eine ausziehbare #Antenne. Betrieben wurde es damals mit einer #Prepaidkarte von #ViagIntercom (heute #O2). Ich wohnte in einem kleinen Kaff in der Südpfalz. Das komplette Dorf war ein einziges #Funkloch. Erst wenn ich das Dorf verlassen hatte und am Ortsschild vorbei war hatte ich ein schwaches Signal.

The advice #O2 gives to customers struggling with connectivity is to _not_ use their service. That's quite a bold move from a commercial PoV.
