Looks like Earth's oceans didn't get the memo that dark mode is supposed to be optional 🌊 Scientists report 20% of global oceans have darkened since 2003, covering an area larger than Europe, Africa, China & N. America combined. Bad news for the 90% of marine life depending on light. 🌍 #ClimateChange #OceanScience

🌊 The #EUDigitalOceanPavilion at the 3rd UN Ocean Conference in Nice will feature insightful discussions and immersive exhibitions!

From 2 to 13 June, the Pavilion will showcase the cutting-edge technologies developed at the EU level to protect the marine ecosystem and promote a sustainable #BlueEconomy.

From @CopernicusEU and the Copernicus Marine Service to the European Digital Twin Ocean, there will be plenty to explore and discover.
You can find more information about the Pavilion here: lnkd.in/eMN_vP35

Another baby step toward the inclusion of women and indigenous people in science.

"Charlene Erasito is the only female Pacific Islander on the expedition to document unexplored parts of the ocean

The invitation to join the expedition came after her research on seamounts – underwater mountains that rise from the sea floor- and biodiversity in New Caledonia impressed the Pristine Seas team. In that project, she used remote-operated vehicles, imagery and acoustic data to explore deep-sea life."
